Another one from me I forgot about !!

The weekend before last a friend of mine came to stay, she got as far as Geneva airport only to find out the train she'd checked online wasn't in fact running ! Nothing else for it, I jumped in my van for a 3 hr journey to go collect her.

On our way back she had said that she hadn't eaten much that day and was hungry, we spotted a McDonalds drive through so for the first time in about 8 years I went to McDonalds.

Fries= Cold, soggy, undercooked :thumbdown:
Chicken burger thing= Soggy bap (fnar fnar) and a fillet with the consistency of porridge, hardly any taste
Service= not really that fast

So why did this make me happy? Well it confirmed that I made the correct decision over the last 8 years not to eat that utter crap and it's also made sure that I am unlikely to ever make that mistake again.

I'll never understand why people "treat" themselves or their kids to utter shit food ?

I always hated there shit food. Burger King was nicer but still never went there much but when the step kids were younger and still at school i would get dragged there two or three times a month. Thankfully they grew up and moved on but the wife wanted to go now and then :( but there was light at the end of the tunnel for me. I got diagnosed as Coeliac and McDonalds dont do Gluten free so i will never set foot in one of there shit house alleged restaurants again

Long ago,
Out side a chip shop in walthamstow,
Was a young rocker called greasy Joe,
He put on his helmet and said lets go

He was keen
Off up the High Street like Barry Sheen
Doing his best too look very mean,
Till he met Ann on her new machine

Vrooming away together
Vrooming away in leather Ann & Joe

They past the Bloody Tower
At a hundred miles an hour
And they were so amazed
The Tower Bridge was raised

They raced off to the top
And found they couldn′t stop
They flew right off the end and landed in the Thames
Hand in hand

Well damn. Happy moment!!

Was talking about shoulder protection with a friend last week and he sent me a link to a shoulder armour brace thingy (only armour on one shoulder, but TBF that's all I really need!!)

So, having looked at the link and read a bit about it, I emailed the company to ask if they did a version for women that aren't flat chested!! (Didn't phrase it quite like that!!). They don't, but the contacted the supplier to ask if there were plans. They even forwarded the reply to me - no plans for a couple of years and confirmation that it wouldn't be comfortable for me!!!

Anyway, the company has offered to send me one to try and alter to make it work for me :o :o :o (I had written that I'd have to have a go at making something as I dressmake so should make the effort). He said that maybe I could alter it to work and if I could, let them know

How cool is that?? So now I'm going to wait for a friend to go back to the uk in a week or so, the company will send it to him and then he'll bring it back with him in a few weeks (I won't have time to do much before then anyway!). It's easier that way than for the co to have to post to France and for me to have to pay import charges etc

Well chuffed!!

My nephew is getting married in March so we chucked a few bob at their wedding prezzy.
I wanted it to be useful, and suggested something for their new house build. My brother was doing all the tiling in the kitchen so we paid for all the tiles.

I told Mat that his missus gets the most benefit from that, so told him to get summat frivolous for himself.

So he's chosen this mega smoker :obscene-birdiedoublered:

And there'll be just enough for a garden beer fridge and fire pit. I couldn't have chosen better myself :obscene-birdiedoublered:

And he got the house keys today :)

This is the one that won't fit me. Will be interesting to see if I can create something that makes the idea work on someone that isn't flat chested!!! LOL

Daughter gave me a big hug. She is very much a "no physical contact" person as she likes her own space and is very introverted. One happy daddy!

I've got a wedding in March in Cornwall and the flights give us plenty of time to see folk. Just arranged a night out with Mr & Mrs Physics and Lotty and Mick :)

Yeah - glad I'm not an original Amazon, the balance issues for skiing and biking would be dodgy for a FUF!! LOL
