Nope. It all runs well. About 15 mins for whole test.

15 minutes? How many people do they have swarming over the vehicle?

I imagine that most of them are swarming over the paperwork.

First guy checks all doors, seatbelts, lights etc.
Second does lots of brake tests.
Next guy puts car on suspension and steering rig and checks underneath while he's downstairs.
Last guy does emissions.
Might have been a bit longer than 15 mins, but felt like we were in and out in no time.
The office does all the paperwork.

It's increasingly a bollox even trying to get a date here, especially with a centre near me. I may need to travel just to get a failure, then repeat the process. My Da used to sell his car and buy a new one before the first MOT at 4 years, just to avoid the hassle.

There's 2 queues. The left one is for folk with appointments. I actually went through a different track on the other side of the car park as it was a re-test.Skub wrote: ↑Fri Feb 02, 2024 10:26 amIt's increasingly a bollox even trying to get a date here, especially with a centre near me. Re: What have you done today thread?
Did a sort of unplanned ski tour this morning! I was half thinking about it but kind knew I'd bail and have a lie in when a friend said "Andy's taking me to the station for 5.30, so he'll be around - maybe he'd go with you?"
He did. We met for a first ever ski tour for him - just to see if he liked it. He did. So we're probably going out next week as I'm working on fitness and he just want's to get better at ski touring cos his wife really loves it
So, more gratuitous mountain shots!
Kiss in the sky -
Sun almost up and a piste badger to the left coming down towards us!
Bloody love these machines -
We didn't stay for the sun to come right up over the mountain, but this is a sunrise shot The main reason I do this. The peace and the quite and mental healing is amazing, but to actually see the sun come over the mountain is awesome

Out of interest, is rust an issue on cars on the islands, or does the heat keep it at bay?Yorick wrote: ↑Fri Feb 02, 2024 10:18 amFirst guy checks all doors, seatbelts, lights etc.

No rust coz it never rains. We see loads of ancient Mercs still running.Taipan wrote: ↑Fri Feb 02, 2024 11:11 amOut of interest, is rust an issue on cars on the islands, or does the heat keep it at bay?Yorick wrote: ↑Fri Feb 02, 2024 10:18 amFirst guy checks all doors, seatbelts, lights etc.

Re: What have you done today thread?
Spent the evening in the church with a drunk troubled young man who is finding life hard and lust difficult to deal with. I can only listen, pray and give him gentle advice. And charge his flat iPhone up for him so that he can contact his family and get home safely.
Could have been me 35 years ago. But for the grace of God, there go I.

One who forgives an affront fosters friendship, but one who dwells on disputes will alienate a friend.

Had some family round for lunch, went shopping, fitted some new door locks, chopped some wood, and now waiting for our eldest daughter, she's coming for dinner and to stay for the evening.
