Guess they will soon no longer need to socially distance.

https://www.politico.eu/article/eu-inst ... -march-22/
Despite failures in rolling out coronavirus jabs across the bloc, the Brussels-based institutions have taken solid preparations to vaccinate their own officials. The European Commission, Council of the EU and European Parliament plan to open their vaccination centers for officials and MEPs on March 22, officials told POLITICO.
Bet it won't be the Oxford/AstraZeneca vaccine.

It's not sinking in here that restrictions haven't been lifted yet. Just got in from walking the dog out the back woods, the National Trust car park was rammed and there were several groups of between 6 and 10 mums that must have 'just bumped into each other' with a dozen or so toddlers. No masks on anyone, some sitting on benches having coffee and cakes.

Seeing a lot of that where we live as have several wooded areas where people meet up, funnily many of them are the ones bitching and moaning about COVID rule breakers on the local FB village page

i think you've got to be realistic now the kids are at school again. My lad and his 2 mates were out with my cycling yesterday, sure we may have LOOKED like we were close, but were we that close, if you're sitting on bikes you're automatically distances by the length of the bike for example.

They're all being tested 3 times a week now, along with me who's had tests too and none of us ever go anywhere other than when the others are going. So i'm seeing very little in the way of risk.

It's quite easy to look like you're ignoring the rules, even though at the most, you're bending them slightly.

The Covid, it's over, finish, finish, finish. And with it the golden time for blockers has come to an end. No more making people zig zag up the street like some sort of ice cream.

It is still perhaps of note, a new block which some exponents put into place in recent weeks: The Static Cringe.

Ok, it's not a true block like The Double Sided Roller, The Supermarket Sweep or The Blind Corner Ambush. It's more of a dither than a block; but it's of that ilk.

All the restriction are to stop the nhs being overwhelmed, which it always is every winter.
With the vacs and low death rate from the virus this has not occured to the dgree that was feared.
Six months time the news will be back to climate change and overpopulation, so why did we bother?

Which is the point I made waaaay back on this thread. Most people are being sensible, if not adhering 100%. I just can't abide the sanctimonious minority who in their minds are not bending rules, despite the obvious fact that they are, but refuse to believe they're hypocrites. Point in case a mate of mine who I rang a few weeks back to see if him and his missus wanted to meet up at my local woods to walk our respective dogs. He was all up for it, but next day said his missus wasn't happy about the 'unnecessary' 10 minute car journey and the fact that we'd be 4 people exercising, not two. Fair play, we're all grown ups.

A week or so later he tells me he's dropping his daughter down to her mate's in Southampton as she's bored and wants to spend a week down there as she's with her uni mates....

Double standards? Go figure.....

Have been doing our best, my folks have barely left the house for over 6 months.
Hasn't exactly helped as even with a vaccine jab about 3 weeks ago, my 92 year old dad is currently lying in hospital like one of the living dead, gaunt and gasping for air, hallucinating and not understanding what the fuck is going on. :(
For reference, he went in about 2 weeks ago to have a gallstone removed from his digestive system (don't know where it was exactly), a week later his blood oxygen had plummeted and he's back in there.
Last night my mum, who'd been invited in to see him before they tried to mask him up fully, was asked "If he goes in the night do you want us to call you straight away?"

fucks sake. :(

I'm assuming he's still going as I've not heard anything yet today.

One person's pisstake is another's mitigated risk.

If I get 10 deliveries at my front door in a week ... -
- about 0% will drop it at the doorstep (and back off in the way that they advertise to death in their 'keeping you safe' delivery spiel)
- about 50% of the delivery drivers will have a mask
- of those maybe 1 has decided to wear it as anything other than a neck cosy

But then all these delivery guys are under 30, so they've either had covid or don't really give a toss if they do get it.

If anything, I'm the dickhead for repeatedly forgetting to answer the door with my own mask on.

Is that a thing? I can't say as I would ever have contemplated it.

Why would it not be? Sounds sensible - this week, the Amazon DeliveryGimp has probably already been breathed on and manhandled by a hundred other w@nkers like me who can't go a day without an 'essential purchase' - and there he is 6 inches from my face at my front door, ready to cough on me and pass it on.

Could be a perfect storm. It could be a, deeply dull, opening to a pandemic feature film where I die frothing from both ends before the end of the opening credits clutching my parcel of light bulbs. Poisoned by fecking Amazon and my own negligence!

I had the plumber in today to fit a new bathroom , I feel naughty.
I'll use the mental health excuse, I've had a toilet in the lounge since December and I can't take it any more.

No need. He's allowed in, quite legally.

Your shitting next to the telly since December is admirable, but so not necessary.

Guess there'll be a Covid-21 single shot booster later this year, perhaps combined with a flu jab.
