Apart from last Sunday when we were on tour,I can't remember when I last went for a proper Sunday ride I always try to get out on mid week rest days, these days the roads are just to busy, takes all the fun out of it ..Dodgy knees wrote: ↑Sun May 22, 2022 3:55 pm
Did I enjoy it ? Not that much, roads full of car's, camara vans out in force and freshly laid gravel on the back roads.
The day trip is becoming something I can easily do without. An overnighter for a trackday or mini trip on the other hand i still really enjoy. So that's what I think I'll be doing in July. Maybe Northumberland or Dumfries and Galloway or both.

@weeksy cleaning scale (where 1 is a minor wipe down and 10 is more sterile than a semi conductor clean room or my mums kitchen)
A ride around the back garden so I could give it a good clean(probably about a 3 on the "Of all the stories you told me, which ones were true and which ones weren't?"
"My dear Doctor, they're all true."
"Even the lies?"

Rode from Hlohovec in Slovakia down to Zagreb in Croatia today. We rode via Hungary and Slovenia.
Odd for me to have to stop at a border cossing inside of mainland Europe, made even more odd when my Residency card was accepted as my ID at the control.
Last 50kms was hard work, lots of roadworks, temporary traffic lights, and throw in 31°c temperature AND high humidity. An ice cold beer will soon be had!
Oh, and have a photo of a Mig 21 (?) fighter on a roundabout close to Papa in Hungary that we passed.

Away just after 7am and back after 11. Great quiet roads, for the most part. It's frigging 30 quid every time I go out now. One fuel stop had unleaded at 189.9

Started to ride route 6 (the Adriatic coastal road) today. From Opatija in the north to Zadar, with stunning scenery. Weather was great, sunny and warm, although very windy in places (as normal).
I think half of all of the GS's that BMW sold in Europe were on that road today.

I saw one today lit up like an Xmas tree. He must have had every aftermarket light available clacked onto it.

I was sat on a minibus from Luton to Rotherham on the M1 last Sunday, I saw dozens of GS's.
They're a proper clit bike.
Now I have one I can see why everyone has one.

It was a eye opener on our Scotland tour the other week. There were 8 bikes based at the B & B.KungFooBob wrote: ↑Sat May 28, 2022 6:21 pm I was sat on a minibus from Luton to Rotherham on the M1 last Sunday, I saw dozens of GS's.

My Street Triple,mates Hyabussa,2 mates on BMW GS's,3 other BMW GS's & a Harley.
It was the same on the road & every time we stopped where there were bikes parked the GS's outnumbered every other bike model to the point that it became a joke at our GS riding mates expense...
That said though,BMW must be doing something right to sell so many of the behemoths, yet BMW launched the K series back in the 80's as they wanted something to replace the outdated boxer moters

Not seen another Deauville here yet. Keeping ahead of lots of more powerful bikes on the many bends. They go past on the straights, but then hold me up again in the bends.
Worst of the lot? Riders of Swiss registered bikes, who fly past on the straights with just millimetres to spare, and don't acknowledge that I have moved over for them. Ignorant c***ts. Plus they do all they can to stop me passing them in the bends

The Deauville (and Pan Euro) were sanitised (made more acceptable to 'bikers' ) versions of the Pacific Coast. Elements of that show up in super-scoots too.

Nice weekend run to Ardrishaig for 14 bikes.
Just under 400 miles in total.
Good weather and roads but by God they were busy. We split into a couple of groups but even then keeping together is a struggle without silly overtakes.
Weekends on the West coast are rapidly becoming no fun at all.

Ah. The Dacia Logan, now with Braille Park Assist.
(I suppose if you're going to have a car that you really, really don't care about, the Dacia Logan is the perfect choice. They could probably beat them up like that on the production line and not affect their desirability).
