I've never understood the attraction of hairpins. Yes the roads they're on lead to wonderful views, but riding around hairpins is just a ball-ache. :?
On some of them there's the thrill of imminent death if you get it wrong. I think I remodelled the underside of the 2-up, fully laden K12LT on some of them. I certainly remodelled my underwear knowing that the barriers would catch the bike...but not the passengers.

I don't like him but have massive respect for his talent.

But if I was meeting the King, I'd try to look smart. He looks like he's been in pub all day

A mate is a mechanic. He was going to a funeral so he took his overalls off and declared himself ready! His wife says, you cant go in jeans for Gods sake, you look like a mechanic. So he went a put his suit on. He reappeared and said how that look? She said you look like a mechanic in a suit! :D Soem people just don't scrub up well, but yes, a shave wouldn't have killed him!

Links to a 1972 full length documentary about racing. I found it when reading about Gong. I've not watched it yet

"The Harley-Davidson Motor Co. built more than 90,000 motorcycles during World War II for the armed forces—a row of Army Armored Division contingency of mounted soldiers made an impressive sight."

Simon Le Bon had a load of bikes I seem to recall. My local dealer 'Mach Motorcycles' had a OWO1 that was supposed to be his race/track bike back in the early 90s.
