Ford.

Particularly the moron that wrote the user manual for the Ford Focus Zetec of 2010 vintage.

Had to change the battery on said car that belongs to a relative. Ok, fair enough big and heavy enough sod of a battery to man handle into the engine bay.

So, the clock needs resetting. Grab owner's manual and peruse the index.

A for adjust time. Nope

C for clock. Nope

T for time adjust. Nope

Had to read through the entire alphabetic index to find that setting the clock is under P for personalised settings.

It doesn't end there.

Why can't I set the year beyond the range 2000 to 2011? :angry-cussingblack: :flame:

I don't mind Rush.

Cheapest tickets on Ticketmaster £202... plus £3 booking fee!
Just reading about The Professor, and am halfway through his book Ghost Rider. Fascinating man and hugely talented individual. Prolific cyclist and motorcyclist.

I have been a life long fan of Rush. Hopefully younger generations will discover them.
Always been big Rush fan and seen them twice.
But some of their stuff is utter tosh :D

The missus bought me My Effin Life by Geddy Lee.

I've no interest in the bloke so it'll never get read.

Be careful, it'll be Yes next ,then the downhill spiral towards Gong and ever deeper into German experimental music.

My own stupidity. I needed the second battery for the cordless chainsaw. Could I find it? Could I buggery. I mean, what sort of fool puts it in the charger on the wall.. It took me about half an hour of puzzling where it might be until I thought about it.

Cars without physical knobs and buttons which rely on a touchscreen for everything, oh they're fine n dandy when they work, but when stuck in a boot loop you kind of miss being able to do anything. :angry-cussingblack:

I typed a whole rant here, but I've deleted it to simply say:

I'd imagine all the Ian Huntley crap on the tv is giving the girls parents more grief than they really need. 🤷🏻‍♂️

I'd imagine they have mechanisms in place to cope with it, just not watching the news would work.

Effing car dealers, their salesmen and the process of buying a new car. :angry-cussingblack:

Buying a new motor (the Lexus is almost 10 years old now), and decided on a Toyota Yaris Cross. Haggled a bit as you do, and agreed a deal involving a contribution from Toyota that depends on a finance deal for at least part of the price. I was happy, they agreed, and all I needed was to wait a bit for my car to be delivered.

Now the fun starts. The salesman is effing useless at actually doing stuff. I put my private plate on retention, then he tells me I need to pay them £80 to put a private plate on. Having disabused him of that, he then says I need to pay £26 for the plates. I point out that the deal was 'on the road', plates included, so just make up the plate with my number. His excuse is that they make up the plates as soon as they are allocated a number - coming up to a new plate year I very much doubt that unless they are daft!

Next is the Finance deal, he says he will send it, then he has to agree a handover date first. Then he asks if I have it andc I point out he hasn't sent it yet. Then he sends it and it is some weird video format that fails to verify me after asking some daft and innane questions and just sends me back to the dealer. Snotogram just sent, send me something I can print out and sign in ink!

FFS, I am close to demanding my deposit back and telling Toyota to stuff it. There are similar and comparable cars out there with less hasssle. :angry-cussingblack:

I'd be very surprised if they haven't put systems in place to protect themselves after going through something like that, they don't need to be reminded or have his name shouted about.
So far I haven't seen a single thing about him on the tv, but then I don't watch the endless 24/7 news programs.

The Trail of the Huntley murders documentary was shown again the other night and my email opens with a news feed first, 2 young girls in man utd shirts. I'm guessing it's been in all the news papers, not that anyone reads them mind.

Last I heard he was on life support after being attacked again in jail. I'd imagine the parents know as much as me.

I heard Huntly had undergone an attitude correction on the radio a day or 3 back, but not seen or heard anything else about it, which suits me fine, you get exposed to what you choose to see in the online world.

Panic buying peeps. 900 litres of heating oil has just passed the £900 mark and I doubt it will stop there. Because of demand my usual outlet won't sell any more than 300 litres, which is currently retailing around what I paid for 900l three months ago.

They've got months of the stuff in reserve and I'm led to believe that the oil prices actually fell yesterday on the markets. People who bought oil before the middle east think kicked off who were waiting for delivery had their orders cancelled as sion as the price went up.

The go garages stuck the diesel up 9p a litre. Normally they're bunged, passed one last night and it was dead.
