He replied ( a bit tongue in cheek I think!!) - just reverse very very slowly and keep going till you hear the tow bar touch!!!

And yet people give me and Mrs. G funny looks if we mention that we never eat 'prepared' food at home, like we're the stupid ones..

Pressurized toothpaste...
Opened a new tube this morning, it looked really *full*
Used he spiky doodad on the cap to break the seal & it immediately squirted a 6in line of toothpaste onto the counter top. Bugger.
Replaced cap, Brushed teeth, Cleaned the counter & it still look like it wants to burst open.

Methinks the UK road network is not suitable for driverless vehicles. Certainly not the Cornish part of the road network.

You obviously have not been in Cornwall recently. Triple the grass, let the hedges grow out a foot each side, and rip up 50% of the tarmac with potholes about 6 inches deep. Oh yes, and fill up that bit at the bottom of the hill with water, about a foot deep should do it. Add pissing rain to restrict visibility a bit too. Welcome back to the Duchy!ZRX61 wrote: Wed Feb 18, 2026 9:28 pmFond memories of hooning along lanes like this at Warp Factor StupidCousin Jack wrote: Tue Feb 17, 2026 3:37 pm Yesterday mine tried to drive me into a stone wall, and into a cycle lane.

The thicker hedges would slightly soften the impact with the drystone wall hiding inside them...Cousin Jack wrote: Wed Feb 18, 2026 10:29 pm You obviously have not been in Cornwall recently. Recruiting for a new engineer to join my team - provided a very clear JD detailing experience etc that is required as a technical specialist role, and have had 20 applicants in less than a week.
Reviewing the applicants today, and only 6 or 7 have anything near relevant experience - have a physio, a rowing instructor, a photocopier repair man, an IT manager, a programmer, amongst other randoms. Why bother.....?????

I'd take the physio given my ever-increasing list of aches and pains.

Universal credit innit. Need to apply for x jobs per week to avoid sanction. No one checks what sort of job, it's numbers that count.v8-powered wrote: Thu Feb 19, 2026 11:49 am Recruiting for a new engineer to join my team - provided a very clear JD detailing experience etc that is required as a technical specialist role, and have had 20 applicants in less than a week.

Costa is BMP at the moment. My finger doesn’t even fit into the cup handle to pick up the over priced cup of tea! It’s also a coffee cup and the stupid large surface area means it’s going cold quick and to top it all the cup is too big for the tea pot do I only get 1.5 cups out of it. And my wife wonders why I don’t take her in these stupid places. I know my station and I’m a greasy spoon kinda guy!

Can't argue with the cup/mug handle thing... it's always baffled me. Can't say i've ever worked out if it's just Costa or other places.. but yeah, no arguments here.Taipan wrote: Fri Feb 20, 2026 8:23 am Costa is BMP at the moment.
