I've not seen her in anything since the X-Files, but I was sure she was American.

During her childhood, she lived in north London's Crouch End and Harringay. She was a pupil of Coleridge Primary School.

Anderson is bidialectal and is comfortable switching between American and British (Received Pronunciation) accents. With her English accent and background, she was mocked and felt out of place as a young girl in the American Midwest and soon adopted a Midwestern accent. To this day, she easily shifts between her American and English accents.

In May 2013, during an interview with BlogTalkRadio, Anderson addressed the matter of her national identity: "I've been asked whether I feel more like a Brit than an American and I don't know what the answer to that question is. Just having brunch after a busy morning.

Got my rowing boat out of the sea and up to the house, retrieved my mooring chain and buoy from the old anchor that is wedged between a couple of rocks a couple of metres under the surface, washed everything, including the boat, with fresh water cleaned myself off, bought a new light bulb for my bedroom and made something to eat.

Need to clean the kitchen floor now as I was a bit wet and mucky when I came in but you know what, there's quite a good feeling from being busy and getting things done. Not sure it'll continue but hey ho, small steps.

Found out my contract of employment retires me at 65 not 67! So just over 4 years to go. I find that quite scary!

Wasn't at my local boozer last night (which is actually 70 miles away)... but it was the lead news story last night.
Nutter attacked someone with a machete up the road at the MickeyD's, did a runner from the cops & promptly got shot multiple times at the boozer. Died in hospital.
Must have been a quiet night as multiple cops opened fire & only the perp was hit.

Found out my contract of employment retires me at 65 not 67! So just over 4 years to go. I find that quite scary!

I was under the impression that you cannot be 'forcibly retired' by an employer on the basis of age. I was wondering if I would be given the heave ho a few years back at 65, but then found out that it was illegal to do so. Don't believe the law has changed since then.

I think there are a few that have gone beyond 65 without any fuss. I dont think you can claim your state pension until you're 67, so that may have been a factor for them? I guess they'll talk me through the options nearer the time, and i have no idea what i'll do when the time comes. TBH, I dont feel old enough to retire and with elderly dependants, i'm not sure I want to quit a job i love to become a sort of carer?

I can go now under the flexi retirement agreement, but I don't want to pack up yet. If the new management start wanting more from me I might walk, but so far everyone seems more than happy with what I do...

I wasn't ready to retire at state pension age, so carried on for a few years and deferred the state pension. But when Covid hit it made me reassess various things and I decided it was time to retire. I'd also been going through the motions at work and enjoying it less and less, so it was the right time. I think you'll know when you're ready - I know I did.

I don't like the idea of deferring state pension, grab it ASAP would be my recommendation.

Why would you defer the state pension, you can claim it and carry on working if you want to.
