Humza Yousaf is to resign as Scotland's first minister as early as today, the BBC understands.
The SNP leader is expected to stand down following the collapse of the Bute House Agreement - his party's power-sharing deal with the Scottish Greens - on Thursday.
Then what?
They'll probably elect a new leader, it's the usual thing to do when this happens.

Or perhaps they could have held an election to elect new MSP's? There's a thought ...
In any case, loving Humza Yusaf's resignation bullshit. Scotland is governed by a clique of slimeballs that make Westminster look vaguely respectable. If Swinney gets the job he's yet another slimeball in the tradition of Salmond, Sturgeon, and Yusaf.

Reports coming through of a serious incident in north east London. Apparently, some nutter has rammed a house with a car and then jumped out and attacked people with a sword. Not thought to be terror related!

See, I was right. I'm now the boss of political punditry and prediction on here.
The Labour leader has repeatedly faced questions about his views on transgender issues.
He has previously said that “99.9% of women” do not have a penis and in 2021 he said it was “not right” for Labour MP Rosie Duffield to state that “only women have a cervix”.
But asked about his response to Ms Duffield, Sir Keir said: “Biologically, she of course is right about that.”
So when Starmer said that 99.9% of women don't have penises what happened to the 0.1% of women he therefore said DO have penises? Did these 1 in 1,000 penises suddenly dissolve into thin air?
With a UK adult female population of over 20 million that's a lot of penises gone awol!

I'll sleep safer in my bed tonight knowing they have caught the people who chopped down an invasive tree in the middle of nowhere, those hundreds of man hours investigating it weren't wasted. https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-tyne-68931202
