O ordered a table planer....under £40 with catriage...took ages to come...three months i think.

When it came, it was a watch.

Sent it back....the ( chinese) seller says he cant send the item i ordered till the watch gets back to him.

He really wanted to give me a 40% ddiscount and let me keep the watch. It must have been worth at least £1.50.

That’s how they’re taking over the World.

Sorry, that's amateur level.

A colleague organised a promotional leaflet (A3 folded, full colour, photos, thick shiny paper).

Unfortunately, he didn't proof read it particularly well and the graphic designer didn't notice the spelling mistake in the banner headline on the front.

Well, he did notice, when the 5,000 copy print run was delivered.

Oops.

I concur. A friend of mine proof read and signed off a voucher book with an error in it for the large supermarket she worked for which cost the company 250k - I had to help her drink several bottles of vino to get over it

What a true friend you are. :obscene-drinkingcheers:

I remember being sat on a bus once and reading a recruitment poster that read, 'Could you drive this bus!'. I remember thinking at the time, it must be a real special fucking moron to have let that slip through, but from what I've just read, whoever did that was only just warming up.

Carry on, you guys. You make us grammar pedants and spelling Nazis very happy.

Mate, I've said it before, as a gentleman I can walk with both princes and paupers and keep the common touch.

(Although one does feel a touch grubby after disembarking from the Clapham Omnibus)

Large resignalling scheme in Sussex a few years ago. A lot of small signal boxes amalgamated into a new Panel at Three Bridges Signalling centre. Amongst the many things altered was the Cab Secure Radio Area code which for the new area was "58". Monday morning the first day trains are running an irate Signaller says the the Area code should be "59". All the new Sectional Appendix documentation that had been issued across the area to track staff, signallers and drivers said the Area code should be 59.

Lots of stroppy phone calls from various departments to my Radio Group saying how incompetent we are etc, the Boss digs out the minutes from a project meeting 6 months earlier and emails it all concerned, a minuted point was that new Area Code was to be 58 and not 59. All the phone calls stopped and the Sectional Appendix had to be re issued.

Dodgy sparkies

This villa was built by Germans and it's amazing. But then Scots bought it and did load of bodges.

Was just chipping some loose plaster off in the apartment when the chisel hit a live wire. Fuck. Just hidden in the plaster.

Luckily we had a big new fuse box fitted 2 years ago. Now no lights in the house.
Our tame sparky is popping round in the morning. He's spent a good few hours here giggling at their bodges.

It was about 2mm under the surface. Usually here all wires are in them tube thingies.

I hit the wire bottom left of pic. The sparky has revealed everything and he's gonna try to make cable safe in situ, somehow.

I'm amazed tradesmen have any vocal chords left, the amount of sighing and sarcastic whistling they do about the previous guy's work.

All repaired with shrink sleeving after chiseling some wall space .

Only wanted €25, so gave him an extra €20 as he came short notice and does us lots of little favours.

Quite normal for here. All wires run in tubes, then all joints in these junction boxes.

But this bodge was very dodgy, but the guy who came is the best sparky in the area.

It's easy, neither sighing nor whistling require much work from vocal chords.
Sorted.

Dunno about over there but cable runs are often not required to be ran in conduit when in the walls.
Oh and was it straight above, straight below or at the same height as a switch or socket?
Often good places to find cables.

Edit, I've just seen that rats nest you have in your wall.
Fark, thats "Whistles"
