Now booked in for Full Service Friday 19 March, brake flush and so on with an independent specialist down in Tonbridge Wells. Nice ride to the place as well.

The K12RS now has some PTFE tape stopping the oil leaking cos I forgot to buy new washers.
They're aluminium (iirc - or something similar) - but IIRC they are annealable if you're VERY careful about it. They're still crush washers, just made from a different metal(s).

Has to be said though - although I do collect the old crush washers I rarely re-use them because the Motorworks 'Service kit' comes with all the new washers I could possibly want. :D

I am quite happy to take the bike to a specialist as it is an absolutely cracking bike to ride. I want it to be tip top condition for me to enjoy. Annoyingly I missed a vario screen with lip on Ebay by a couple of minutes, no bids on it either... will see if it is relisted and stick an offer in straight off. Looking forward to the improvements in weather so I can enjoy riding it more. MOT is due later this month as well.

Washed the bike today. Taking it next Friday for a service, so may as well make it nice for them to work on...

that image link is for a 'download' - where are you trying to share it from?

well - at least - when I try to visit the link without the "[ img ]" bits - it tries to force a download onto my computer - rather than displaying the image.

I've done the usual share from OneDrive as with all other images. It has been playing up a bit though with photos from my iPhone.

Serviced and MOT'd now. All ready for the next year of riding. Just need to do a bit more than 500 miles if I can! Was out and about after the MOT today and it feels lovely.

Tank off. BoosterPlug removed as it is running way too rich.

Tank back on. Washed and cleaned the bike as it was shat on by birds at the Church. Will park closer to the building away from the trees next time!

I'm not 100% sure about the Ks, but on the 1100/1150 series R bikes, the Motronic doesn't really respond that well to Booster plugs. Because they tend to adjust 1 particular setting to a fixed value, the Motronic tends to 'work-around' that one setting in order to bring the bike back to whatever map it's following. The Motronic is a 'closed-loop' system that monitors the output of the engine (exhaust gases), and readjusts the fuelling to bring that output back it's mapped setting.

If you want to change the way the engine runs, you need to get it properly remapped, rather than trying to mess with 1 input setting.

The Ks might be more intelligent than that (depends on what the booster plug is trying to do), but it might not. I never investigated it.

Thankfully no northern birds near the bike, and the fuelling can be sorted via a PC5 if I feel like spending that much, but to be honest, I can live with the bike as it is. The only thing I'm looking for is a SWMotech rack and a taller screen. It is a cracking nice bike, sounds rather nice with this exhaust and goes all too well!

RB is right, the Motronic will eventually cancel out the Booster Plug as it readjusts to its baseline. Gary at Mototuning.ie is yeer Mon for this, so he is!

Oh yes, reinsured for the year with Bennetts, FC and only £140. That is a lot better than the Honda I had before.
