I'm not sorry to see Ireland keep their 36 year record of failing to win a game in the knockout stages, Sexton's petulant post match behaviour confirming that although he is/was a great rugby player he's a shitty human being.

He doesn't play as dirty as Farrell does tho!!

TBF, I kind of understand him being a bit of a dick post match. It's not right at all, but this was his last chance to get further in the world cup as he won't be on the team next time around. So, whilst it's shitty, there's an element of understanding (from me anyway!)

As I've only come back to watching rugby in the last couple of years, I do ownder how Ireland will fare without him as he does seem to keep them together a bit - I know he shouts a lot but they seem to respond, so . . . . ?

The first 15 mins had me a smidge concerned - just couldn't bring myself to cheer for Argentina!!

I remember when the bokke got beaten by Japan in world cup and I found it funny (lots of taunting messages sent) then England lost to them....
So I'm just hoping for some good rugby, but hope England win...

There are some games where you wish that both teams could lose. This time I'm hoping the Boks win. The quarter finals clearly showed the size of the gap between the top 4 sides and the rest. SA and NZ deserve to be finalists, I don't care which one of them wins it

I remember my Dad saying that you have to score trys to win and not just rely on kicking. It was a close match but England did not score a try and the boks did....
It was close and nice to see that England upped their game and managed to take to them.
Anyways it should make for a good final and a good loosers final against the argies (we did beat them in the opening match).
Let's hope for lots of trys.

Was a great game to watch but they do seem a bit vulnerable in the last 20 mins.

The Boks got their act together in the second half, swapped half the team out and changed their strategy to target the scrum, and Handre Pollard saved them (again) was a great game to watch and England did us proud. At least we are spared being creamed by the All Blacks in the final! My SA mates turned grey during the match

My Kiwi mate is a smidge peeved cos he was looking forward "to the AB's stomping England's guts out next weekend"

I guess the AB's will have to work a bit harder now to win!!

I'm looking forward to Saturday - they aren't the two final teams I wanted, but I think it will be a bloody good match.

England stayed on-script, but it wasn't enough. The boks wete far more dangerous in the 2nd half, and deserved their try.

Owen F, captain or not, was treading dangerous ground in arguing with the ref. Some would have sent him off.

Overall, the wrong team and the wrong script. What England need is a new game plan and some younger players who will go off-script if a chance opens in front of them.

OMG, I'm so pleased you wrote that. I so so wanted him sent off for arguing. But didn't have enough conviction that I was right to post about it!!

One thing I have always loved about rugby is that there is respect - between the teams and between the ref and the teams. No shouting matches about who is right and who is wrong. Ok, sometimes some argybargy between teams, but generally shakes of hands after and all back to rugby.

Farrell seems to over step that line in a lot of ways (not just last night).

Was interesting trying to explain to a French last night that I dislike Farrell as I consider him to be a 'dirty player'. Not a description that I found easy to translate!! LOL But we got there in the end.

I always thought that my Kiwi mate was biased in his dislike of Farrell, even though I agree with him generally. But when a couple of English mates confirmed some of what he said I figured he really is as bad as he looks.

WTF don't the team/managers pull him up on his behaviour??
