Not been on here for a while so there's some catching up to do....
1. Getting my 'dole' money from the French gov't €537 for 11 days
2. Having a play on my brothers VR set up. WOW that was something else.
"Hey Luke, what would it cost me to buy one like this"
"exactly like this? well this is special as it does CAD too, the tower that runs it all is about £10,000"
"FUUUUUUUCK"
"but you could build one that won't do CAD, probably about £1500 for the set up"
"That's still too much, but thanks for letting me play"
3. Making a deal on my superduke, only downside is driving from Cornwall to Scunthorpe and back in a day tomorrow (wednesday)
4. Meeting a friend for a drink. As I left the house I'm staying at, my mate asks
"are you going to shag her"
"no mate, I mean I would, but she's fit as and only 27, it's just not on the cards"
fast forward a few hours ' ohh so it was on the cards then'
5. getting a new side window fitted in my van, it was a bit of a PITA but I'm really pleased with it.
6. Selling a shit ton of Snap-on Branded 'tat' on ebay. Most of those things have been tucked away in a box for 10 years.... over £1000 so far !

Do remind her she's walking around with a grands worth of kit and that she should keep it in her pocket when not being used, then turn on 'find my iphone' or whatever it's called in the Appleverse

Quite. The other phone had the same tracking thing live as well. It is also set to erase and will also show a message "This phone is stolen - Contact this number...."

Insurance Co have decided that they will cough with a full replacement phone in identical specification. So my wife goes, it's your birthday present. Ahh. Nothing like a pink (rose gold) phone for a hulking fellow like me!

Business student Mrs White-Christmas said: "It took us time to twig that our surnames came together as White-Christmas.
Really? Fuck me, if that's the state of education we're in trouble.

Walking poles. Never tried them before, around 2 minutes a mile quicker on a 10 mile walk.

Liberté.
Our local Lidl haven't sold it for at least a year, now it's back.
It tastes just like Kraken, but £10 a bottle cheaper!

I can see the joke getting very old, very quickly.

When you order something from a global company on the phone, and when you give your address to the lady taking the order the conversation goes like this:
Her: Is that the road with the church at the end?
Me: Yeah, St. Paul's
Her: My grandad lives in the house opposite the church!
Me: I see him on his front drive when I take the dog for a walk. I always nod and say hello!
Small world, innit

It's very pleasant in the square tonight. Most bars open and steady crowds.
Plenty of scantily clad totty walking about on this warm evening. We get spoilt.
But a nice young thing just walked through in short skirt and thigh length boots and all the blokes had a reet good look
Not often seen here
Now back to normal scantily clad totty

Just found out that over here, you can hoof it a bit when overtaking. Hmm, let's see
Cars and motorcycles may not exceed the speed limits by more than 20 kilometres per hour on conventional roads when overtaking other vehicles.

I'm on a FB group for 80's Proddy Racers. It's funny as fuck chatting to all the lads I had races with.
We were all early 20s without a care in the world, but the mist dropped when the flag went down. Caught up with many I'd forgotten about.
But the funniest thing is I still read the posts how I remember them in the paddock or in the pub the night before. But sometimes I take a peek at their profile and they aren't quite how I remember
My racing days were the best of my life and a great set of lads. Different times. Different folks. Same good fun

I'm not sure if this one made me happy as such but working on site the other day and one of the foremen came round telling us that we had a couple of minutes to go to eleven AM and asked if we coule be quiet for rememberance and told the painter (who is a bit of a gobshite) that he would get yellow carded if he kept singing through it.
Just as it was coming upto 11 they sounded the airhorns that usually signify the fire alarm and we just stopped work, had a bit of a reflect on stuff, then at the end they sounded the horns and we got back to work cutting and drilling and paint spraying.
That is the only building site I've worked on where remembrance has been structured so well.
Can't say it made me happy because its not that kind of thing but I was impressed that they did it.
I suppose touched would be a better word.

In uncertain times I'm delighted to announce that I have received my winter contract details. Only until the end of February initially but may be extended. I have a job where many others are not so fortunate !
As it's been nearly a month and both the UK and France went into lockdown, I was starting to think this contract may never arrive!
Thankfully this morning it hit my inbox, so was signed and returned in double quick time.
HI HO, HI HO, it's off to the alps I go
