Those discs are a bargain, i changed the discs on my 1150 for EBC and they were over double that price

Couldn’t not get new discs at that price

Had a couple of hours today, tank off which is a quick if heavy job !. ECU out and chip swap to a John Gemi unit which apparently is the goto for these and only £70 from the man himself. Whilst tank was off swapped the air filter and changed the front shock. While tank was off gave everything a clean and a spray with protectant. All bolted back together...and the rear shock just been delivered

Mine wasn't

Haven't ridden it yet but it's got a different feel and sound when revving it

It’s for my 2003 twin spark with cat removal and standard or aftermarket exhaust.

I run the Rockster with just the cat and no can so l need to find out what programming it needs.

Was recommended this so tried it out, sprayed on after a clean and left to dry it gives a great finish even on this 19 year old bike

Little bit more top end but a chunk of midrange. I’ve not ridden it yet but even in tickover and revving it, it feels more responsive. Plenty of people have done it and dyno’d and the results look good.

I had a John chip on my 1100gs,spec was Remus exhaust,1200gs injectors
It made a huge difference, it was fun revving it not just plodding along,felt quite quick after

I think they are model specific, you’d have to buy one from Gemi himself

I'm not sure if the Motronic on the 1200 series is the same as that of the 1100/1150 series.

But even so the Gemi chips are very specifically programmed (from what I've read) for different setups, eg different exhausts, manifolds, filters etc., i believe its effectively a complete 3D fuelling remap.

Had a couple of hours so thought I’d look at swapping rear shock :
Bike on centre stand
Both seats off
Seat bracket off
Exhaust can and wheel off
Top and bottom shock bolts out and old shock is out !
New shock a tighter fit in the mounting points as seals need squeezing but no issues with fit. Once in though the preload hose is tight when mounted in same way as the standard one. Lift it 10mm higher it’s fine so a longer bolt used and I’ll get machine shop next door to make a stainless spacer up.
Also exhaust can weighs a ton so I’ve left it off and will get exhaust man over to a yard to put me a baffled race can on.
Sag set front and rear and job done.
Next up 17’s and a weepy fork seal, tyres are here so I’ll get them on in week. I’ll adjust the front shock for 10mm ride height to offset the smaller wheel. Looking forward though to trying it with the new shocks as is as it feels a lot more plush at standstill.

Hope the front end goes well, when I swapped out the Wilbers shocks from mine it was a bit of a faaf compared to the rear.

The forks are piss easy, remember it's just lubrication for the sliders so a weep is not that worrisome.

I just fitted gaiters to the Rockster and ignored it.

Weather crap so had another couple hours to finish this off. Preload adjuster fixed, new number plate swapped, indicator repair and front calipers removed cleaned and new pads fitted. Checked sag on front and rear shocks and gave it a quick wash. Think that’s about the lot it’s now serviced with new tyres brakes and suspension and ready to be used
