Rear Sprocket Tab Washers

Post by Le_Fromage_Grande »

As you may be aware I recently replaced the chain and sprockets on my 31 year old FZ750, the rear sprocket tab washers all fell apart when I took them off, new ones are no longer available, and if they were they're £40 for 3 of them.

I've torqued and Loctited my nuts for now, I could make some tab washers from sheet steel, but it's a lot of arseing about cutting them out, any other solutions anyone knows of?

Newer bikes don't have tab washers. Mine's got 200 thingies with no tabs.

I'm married,so well used to having comments deleted.

My contribution was loctite/spring washers or nyloc nuts.

Loctite is fine.,probably just tightening up is fine too.

DO them up tight.

Loctite.

Locking nuts - in which case, do them up even tighter to account for the torque 'lost' in overcoming the lock.

Don't worry about it. Best solution I find.

Is it politically correct to say that chain is black?

Yeah...

I couldn't see where the air intake was. And surprised water didn't go down the exhaust.

Intake above bars. Exhaust has more pressure than the water....
