Get thee away from me Satan! It is really nice and i love the black frame colour, but I couldn't get on and off of it without pain, so no use to me even if it was free!

For that generation of 690 it's almost giving the bugger away, especially as it can do traction control, power modes and has the enhanced internals which means it doesn't suffer from rocker issues as it's a completely redesigned top end.

It certainly made me miss my old one! Amazing bikes. I hated my one twice. Once when it blew up and twice for making me forgive it as soon as a I picked it up from Jim Aims!

Aren't there just two times you enjoy a 690?

The day you buy it and the day you sell it.

Not in the slightest... they're absolutely brilliant things...i'd effortlessly own another, although i don't see that being an option now as they no longer make the Duke in 690 trim.

Lol! No they are cracking bikes really. You'll never have a boring ride on one that's for sure. Only gripe I had with mine was the snatchy throttle at low revs, but that's due to commuting in heavy traffic at slow speed and i've yet to ride a Fi bike that doesn't do that! If you're just riding on normal open roads they are an absolute hoot!

That's where an ECU flash comes in. That transition from a dead throttle is as smooth as a well set up carburettor will give you. All the emission crap really mess up some bikes in terms of feel.

Absolutely. I had the ECU on my F800R flashed and it made a massive difference! Throttle roll on/offs were faultless and I could sit in the lower gears with the throttle just open and no jerkiness or light switch transitions! 8-)

High miles. As I said, it's bonkers cheap. If I had £3000 lying round I'd buy it just to take to Pembrey this weekend

Think my one had around 20k miles when I sold it? Surprised the Eastern Europeans haven't snapped it up? They laugh at us and our fear of "high mileage" on a bike?

High miles AND it's a KTM = not so many would take a punt.
