Any biker old enough for a tattoo that still saunters around in a nappy and leather jacket is a wrong 'un.

Either very young, or very old.

Sky & Amazon charging £16 to rent a film for 48 hours :obscene-birdiedoublered:

I know the industry must be hurting, but they can feck right off, that's the old price they charged to buy a film, download and a hard copy

To be slightly fair, those are current cinema releases. They will be cheaper to rent when they hit the 'home video' window.
The last time I went to the cinema it was something like £13* just for a normal ticket so I guess they base their price on cinema prices.

* Then I found out the local Vue did all tickets for £6 :angry-cussingblack:

There's the rub, my 'local' Vue has been under a fiver for years

For a real cinema experience, simply stick some old chewing gum on any chairs in the living room and sit somebody in front of you would prefer to carry on their telephone conversation 'til halfway through the film whilst eating a huge bag of Doritos really loudly.

Not if you do it right.
I only go during the day, pretty much never more than a dozen people total;

I have to say I resent having to pay extra in a cinema for 'a comfortable seat'

I'll do that bit myself thanks. :D

(but not Doritos, that's not real food, something like Pipers Thyme and Rosemary would be classier)

Disney+ wanted similar (£18 I think) to rent Black Widow. They can do one at that price and they have the gall to say Scarlet Johansson was being greedy.

It all seems a bit out of whack, the "stars" don't need to earn that much, there's plenty of budding actors that would do the job just aswell for a fraction of the price. Then the Disney's wouldn't need to charge the cinema that much and the Cinemas/streaming services wouldn't need to charge the customers so much !!!?? Unless I missed something !?

I think you missed the risk factor, if someone is spending £200M on a film then they would rather pay a known person £20M that will draw the crowds in and not dusrupt filming than an unknown person for £2k that could cost a fortune in lost filming days.
The cast is one of the things I use to decide if I want to watch a film, though usually because I know certain actors should be avoided.

You mean apart from missing the facts that:
1 Disney, love them or loath them, have a history of making successful films so maybe they know what they're doing
and
2 you don't?

Back To The Future for example - well known that they shot most of the film with Eric Stolz in the Marty McFly role and (not that he's shit) decided he was all wrong for it and got MJF back in to reshoot it. Added another $4mil apparently, hardly insignificant for the mid 80s

If it had bombed it would probably be up there in film folklore for entirely different reasons - as it was that $4mil was perhaps hugely shrewd.

That said, well known and well paid actors can carry real stinker films to a profit - that's probably the difference

A neighbouring house. I really don't want to be a grumpy old fecker of a neighbour, but it seems that most every evening they have a shit load of kids making a load of noise in their garden, which backs onto mine. I understand that kids make noise, I was one myself once, but this is footballs bashing against their fence, screaming, shouting, etc.
I was planning to sit in garden with a glass of wine. Probably won't til later....

Should have worked harder at school so you could afford to live in a nice area.

I've got both Black Widow films on my TV package. Are they any good ?
