Made my first garden chair by using up some old wood. Not the prettiest I'll admit but I hope to improve as I go, but its functional!

the new splinters in your arse chair, guaranteed to have you sitting tight for hours on end!
Glad that your son is more positive again. Just because you are the go to person in your family does not mean you don't need go to people to talk to and be able to vent. Take care of yourself too and give yourself some clear headspace. Grace and peace to you and yours.

Re: What have you done today thread?
Today I delivered an apple tree! Bought to celebrate my training incumbent being made a Canon at Rochester Cathedral. Also got a fairly expensive bottle of cask strength Laphraoig for him too. So he is filled with the Spirit and Fruitful! He was really delighted and will enjoy the gifts.
Helped inflate the camping beds for the youngsters camping fun in the church garden and then headed home to celebrate my daughter getting an A* distinction for the Extended Project Qualification she submitted earlier in the year. Based on Art and Psychology and children's work. She spent hours on that project and really worked very hard. So proud of her!!
Now to finish my sermon for Sunday and then check the liturgy for the service I am leading Sunday evening. Also sorting out invitations to my ordination service on 25th Sept at Rochester Cathedral. All very exciting and humbling.

Not-very-happy-hour?
I remember popping into Claridges for a couple of pre-dinner drinks some years back. Cost almost as much as the dinner, and it we didn't go cheap on the nosebag, either.
Still, can't take it with ya.

Re: What have you done today thread?
Just got into a nightmare medical case. A good client brought their head shy little Shit Sue (yeah, that ain't how it's spelled but it's how I feel about the dog). Bug eyed little shit that is extremely head shy. Came in just now with a red eyeball. Nice big corneal ulcer. It took two of us to get the dye into the eye so I could see what was going on. Then it was a matter of watching the moving target to try to get a good look. It's a biggie too, covers about 1/4 of the cornea. At least it looks superficial. Now the owner will have to get eye drops in the damn thing multiple times daily. I've explained to them that they will grow to hate my sorry ass, but this is what it's going to take to fix things. Unless it takes more effort, like surgical intervention at some point.
I'll get to see where things are going on Thursday.

Contracts exchanged on the house, if they back out it's a lot of their money we'll be keeping. We'll be officially homeless on August 27th, off to the pub to celebrate.

Funny that you say that, I was preaching in a different Church last week!!! But there is a teaching series, so I am required to follow the thread of thought and take the topic forward...
