Google has him as having a wealth of over £300m.... he could just play for free, it's not like he'll be short of a bob or two.

In La Liga there is a rule that re-signing a player to a contract requires the salary to be at least 50% of the previous salary, La Liga also has rules about how much each club is allowed to spend on salaries and Barcelona have already maxed out. This is a mixture of strange rules from La Liga and poor management from Barcelona. This leaves no choice for Messi and is therefore upsetting and frustrating."

I'm sure there's got to be ways around the contract cap for him. I get the Barca are maxed out.. but i struggle to believe a lawyer couldn't come up with a way.

It's a silly situation.

But, selfishly, I'd love to see him go elsewhere, 'prove' himself again in a different league, see how much he has left in the tank like Ronaldo has done.

Deffo agree with that, would be great to see him in anohter side, especially as IMO Barca are not what they were... so seeing him with some of the PSG stars would be great to watch.
