Probably, I started riding bikes in 1983 and the YPVS came out in 1983 and that was what I wanted, I couldn't afford one until 1990, really enjoyed owning and riding one

I know beauty is in the eye of the beholder etc, but that statement can only come from nostalgia.
Yeah, coz we all know the full faired version is the best :obscene-birdiedoublered:

Le_Fromage_Grande wrote: Fri Aug 06, 2021 2:55 pm I looked at RC390s on ebay and there's a brand new 2017 one on there for £3500, then I was looking at something else on the LC forum and there was a picture of a YPVS on there https://rdlccrazy.proboards.com/thread/ ... 385?page=4 (half way down) and I knew Iccy was right, what I want is a YPVS and that's what I should get on with, still the best looking bike ever made

If we're doing blurry me-me-me-me pics then here's mine, 1987 ish - my photographer was slightly less shit than yours so my ultra cool and stylish red boots may clearly be seen not to be brown :D

Unfaired ones were better (well, except for the CDIs :geek: ) ;)

That's way, way, way nicer looking than the KTM, it's also faster and more fun, plus it'll be worth more as every year goes by.

Like I said the KTM isn't a bad bike, it's just seriously ugly and soulless, for the track it would be ok because if you throw it at the tyre wall you won't care, but as a bike to love and ride on the road for fun you'll have a lot more fun on your valve.

Old bike stuff from the 80's was super flimsy compared to stuff now, I found my old FT racing boots a while back and they were like goatskin slippers :D

My racing leathers had a 2mm layer of crappy foam on knees and elbows.

I had a one piece Sheene replica suit made by TT leathers, single thickness, single stitching and a bit of upholstery foam was all the padding or armour it had, fortunately I never went fast enough to fall off.

This is possibly the best looking motorcycle I've ever owned, I just couldn't get on with the riding position for some reason and I always preferred to ride my LC, so I sold it, but I really regret it and would buy it back.
