2 minute lap times round Cadwell is top of novice, middle of Inters territory, on a 400 I'm about 2:15, but I leave some hefty safety margins, I'm riding at about 90%, I'm certainly not pushing, and there are corners I don't like, Hairpin and Mansfield, and you can shove the stupid chicane up your arse.
But I'm having fun and that's all that matters to me.
I'd bet you I'd be round that if I were out. One time at Pembrey I think Yin was timing us lot
1;15-20 was about the inters average of then TRC.
Maybe he'll remember a few novice riders times
No chance of me remembering although it might be on a thread somewhere in the past as i listed a few but probably nuked as it was on TRC at the time .... i might set my lap timer up for end of the month but then get slaughtered for the times
I rode my Zx636 as fast as it would go a few times .... 167mph indicated while in full tuck in a fairly straight area and the GS1150 probably as hard as i dared in cornering as it touched down the engine bars a few times but was soft as shit and weavy when pushed. I am nowhere near the Multistrada limits but hope to learn a bit more at Pembrey but pushing the little 600 Fazer more and to the edge of the tyres on the road while feeling comfortable on it. Its running a bit ropey on the top end so needs a proper carb clean out so no way i will track that as i need it for work and not going bang

Massively different abilities in novice at cadwell last week. Some were slow but some were definitely in the wrong group.
Seems to be normal for track days now, it's okay so long as everyone gives each other enough room.

Yep, I don't mind the fast lad's, they just go flying by. It's the ones of similar pace that can take some negotiating.

The worst ones are the massively quick down the straights wobble round the corners, you can't pass them on the straight and they're unpredictable in the corners, but it's Novice so you've got to expect it.

It used to be if a rider was noticeably faster in novice or inters, they were moved up a group. Does this not still happen?

Sadly no, 20 years ago it used to happen, nothing better than that day when you're told to move up a group. Though being moved down a group would be pretty shit.
