Prompted by this I've just looked up what bikes you can ride when - no wonder motorcycling is dying in the UK, what a pile of cack

Re: Good 125's
My local stealership sells these, I think the HPS and the Sports classic look brilliant.

They do a 300cc version too. They're built in China for Piaggio and I think they've got Aprilia engines.

Mutt Motorcycles are pretty nice. My father in law has a Hilts 250, it looks pretty good and it seems pretty well built too.

Training weight for a proper Starbucks adventure bike.
My Honda SH300i with it's 26bhp weighed more than my ZX10R.

Re: Good 125's
Yamaha YBR125s were widely used by training schools. Solid little things, even your average 125 owner would struggle to destroy one.

Means nothing to me? Cracking looking little adventure bikes and becoming very popular too, at least around London they are!

Mito 125. Aprilia RS.
Your boy will soon learn why two stroke 125's are the only 125 bikes to ride.

Re: Good 125's
If he can find an Aprilia RS125 they are often full power 125's ....... quick little bikes and if he is a full license holder on the reciprocal agreement then he is legal to ride it as well while most kids here ride them on L plates which is outside their license conditions and also invalidates their insurance

Re: Good 125's
There are some decent Honda 125’s on Autotrader for about £2.5k.
https://www.autotrader.co.uk/bike-detai ... 1fl&page=1
Expensive but kept in good nick (which no doubt you will) you’ll get most of your money back on resale.
It might be worth the initial big outlay for something that won’t fall apart.

Re: Good 125's
What about the Yamaha Supermoto 125???? They look good and seem to go quite well.
I’ve got a MSX 125, great fun but painfully slow.
Gilera runner 125 SP I think is the 2t version, there fun, and you can add some bits

Re: Good 125's
Surely it's got to be a DT125R they did them in Supermoto trim though they are rare, there's even a few TDM125's about.
It has to be 2 stroke or he'll find it too slow. Though any 125 will feel slow as I seem to recall he's raced some MX ?

The EU Regs were written to allow different options. DSA/DfT went with 'test'.Potter wrote: ↑Wed Jul 28, 2021 2:56 amIt looks to me like they've killed it, you have to take three tests, one at 17, then another at 19 and another at 21/24.Le_Fromage_Grande wrote: ↑Tue Jul 27, 2021 1:48 pm Prompted by this I've just looked up what bikes you can ride when - no wonder motorcycling is dying in the UK, what a pile of cack

The Aprilia RX125 two stroke is a really good bike, but don't expect the engine to last forever, tbh same goes for the Gas Gas and Husky
