Funny because I like the way the guzzi motor looks but I like that not at all.
I think I have rose tinted specs about a nicely tweaked le mans and can't get past that.

I like the old dog look of that. If it were mine the waste of time meshed bellmouths would be replaced with pod filters and a nice 2-2 exhaust would be fitted. Alloy tank FTW!

I do love a Guzzi - no idea why, I just do. A speedo probably wouldn't go amiss though.

I just tried to find a picture of a Guzzi I liked, but they all looked like the love child of R2D2

I liked the 1000 Sport. Uncomfortable to ride and it is made for people with half sized legs - but the looked good for the era.
The back end of that is just all wrong!
The Davida one, however looks great ...

The one I rode was red - and for some reason looked better than that! Maybe they haven't aged well.

All that said - don't think could ever buy a Moto Guzzi

Brutal in many ways.

The little chicken strip on the rear tyre seems to say the arse end has been wobbling all over the shop with a bit of lean.

That is just gopping. Crappy power sapping exhausts, pathetically positioned speedo/revcounter (why not place them together?), a painted yellow tint on the headlamp (why? Its not French), crappy front sidelights/indicators and a £50 seat bolted on. Cables, wiring and fuel filter need tidying up (i.e. get hidden from sight). All the hallmarks of flicking through Aliexpress/Wish websites and clicking "buy" when you see something cheap.

Even Bellwood would do better

Me I like a Guzzi, there are loads of half decent cafe racers out there, but that certainly isn't one of them.

That really gets my goat too. I can never understand seeing lots of great add on bits that have been perfectly engineered with care and thought, then ruined because the wiring is dangling down for the want of (at the very least) a few zip ties, and rear brake master cylinders that can be moved out of sight with a longer bit of brake hose.
