Hearing noises... Grrrrrrr . Words, i have none.
I was out the other day on the XSR and thinking "what's that noise...." it was about 3000-5000rpm and about 40mph. Not sure if it happens higher in the range as the engine noise kicks in and the exhaust note so you can't hear
chatting with Couch we're thinking Clutch Bearing, possibly chain tension, then going through things....
Then out on the 790 today... I'm sitting thinking.... is that the same noise... that's interesting, maybe it's just the tyre on the road then.
So i then took out the ZX6R to check it over before Silverstone next week.... SAME NOISE !!!!!
So basically it's either my helmet or something on me/clothing, but it's deffo not the bike !!

Ride naked and see if it's still there?
Then add an extra item and try again.

It's your sphincter passing wind because you're getting scared by the awesome speed

fraid not... we only have Shoei NXR's unless you count MTB helmets... I do have an X-Spirit 3 i could steal for an hour (birthday present for Oct) but for now i've just tried the vent on the back of the NXR, you can't really tell if it's open/closed.... So i've flicked it over, just in case it's got knocked.
I generally ride with all vents closed.

I've ridden a bike stark bollock naked. It was a BMW 80ST. It was a lovely bike for round town - a kind of road version of the GS, so it had high level exhaust, but standard road tyres and mudguards, upright seating position, and wide bars with loads of leverage. The engine was very smooth and grunty, and you could see over most of the traffic, so it made a great street bike. It was Ok at speed as well, and would much miles, but was tiring at speeds over 70, due to the wind blast - it was a totally naked bike. Sadly it feel victim to a u-turning driver in South Lambeth Road.

I've been muchly concerned by a rattle that came and went at certain engine revs til I realised it was my keys rattling on the top yoke.

Long time ago though and now I always use the same keyring on my bikes: it's plastic so it's a) quiet, and b) won't scratch anything. Also I don't have any other keys on that ring.

Surely everyone has their bike keys on RTTL keyrings?

Mine is a plastic conrod (with an ally shell bearing to boot) that was being 'produced' by a moulding machine for some under-grad's project at Exeter Uni when I was being shown round the place prior to attending. I never found out what the project was and they must have produced thousands of the bloody things off this machine but I've never seen another since that day.
