For the last 13 years there has been nothing new that sets my trousers on fire. The last bike I really, really wanted so bad it obsessed me,is the one I currently own (ZX10R)

There are some new bikes I admire, but I see nothing I lust after. Maybe it's an age thing, where all the pretty bikes are in the past and (for me) it's all been done. I dunno.

I kinda miss that feeling of planning and scheming to put myself in a position to buy the object of my desire, but as things stand,if my current bike exploded or was nicked,I'd buy another 04/05 Ten.

I shouldn't really be posting on this thread,should I ?

Next?
Either a 450/500 EXC Six Days or the 450/501.
Plus a 125 to go out with it.
10R is staying but the 1400 is going as its space is being used by the 690.

If I could afford a new bike it'd be a Yamaha tenere 700,but I can't so I want a cheaper alternative.
I really want something that I can take off road a bit in the peaks etc, but won't become a chore on bigger road days out(not that I do many) or on a 30 mile commute, so somewhere between a proper trail bike and a huge adventure bike.
There aren't many options really.

Not keen on the 650, I like the 800s but a nice one is nearly as much as a t700. I probably won't swop the mt09 for a long while yet anyway, just pondering.

The 650 twin isn't nearly as good as the older 650 single (twin spark model).

Won't be anything new, basically any sports bike since about 1990 will be better than I am, not that I can fit on them anyway.

If the K12RSp holds up, I'll probably start looking for either a late R1100S or I know a bloke with a pretty original R100RS who might just sell to a good home. I know the eldest boy wants my Pan, so I need to have something sensible for carting the missus or younger sprogs about.

This 10 day delivery time for my new Speed Twin is going very slowly- I must have read every road test (not seen anything other than glowing praise so far) and just look at that torque “curve” !!!

Optional V&H pipes as part of the deal and I’ve already ordered a Tec tail tidy and smaller back blacked plate, but I’m not sure it needs much else - it comes with nice touches such as bar end mirrors, led indicators etc. as standard . I’ll probably look at some luggage options at some point though (Hedon and Becker have some nice stuff) .

690 Enduro. Same power, less weight. More maintenance depending on your mileage as valves are every 6k miles but other than that ideal.

I have a BMW F800R Sport with all the extras and really enjoy riding it, but, I really fancy a Ducati monster 821 new model.
This will be my 2021 bike I think.

I've watched most of the reviews on this and there are no really negative comments from anyone. My Tiger is in for a service at Blade Triumph in Swindon tomorrow morning, might see if there is one available for a test...

How many more sleeps before it arrives? :)

I did the whole “read all the reviews and road tests after I’d bought the bike” thing... I was pleasantly surprised at how positive they all were. It even achieved Bike magazine’s Bike of the Year last year- all of which is not helping with my impatience to get it!

It’s looking like it’ll be in the dealership tomorrow and ready for collection early next week. Apparently they’ve been rushed off their feet with bike sales - they had sold 70 bikes this month when I bought mine last Saturday, and speaking with Darren yesterday he told me they did another 13 this Monday! Clearly the economic downturn isn’t impacting bike sales at the moment

I turned up at Blade Triumph in Swindon this morning in torrential rain, hoping they would have a jet ski loaner for me!
They didn't have a Speed Twin available but gave me a 765RS Street triple.

Conditions really aren't ideal conditions to test out supercorsas, Ohlins and top end Brembos! :D :D

Bloody lovely bike though and hopefully I'll get some dry miles later and go a quick report.
