IIRC a few of the speed limiters where based on a contact inside the clock, you just bend the tang so it doesn't touch when the needle sweeps past.

I've had 3x CBR's an FZR and a VFR400, along with a 400 Bros :)

And you really want another FZR, a black one, with race bodywork.
I can add a pink stripe if you want

At the moment it’s got a can on and is standard. It has a good sticker on the cdi which apparently is the non limited one. This will be a base run to see where it is.
To go on is an ignitech cdi, hrc copy airbox lid and jet kit. I’ll change the nasty Chinese end can too 👍

KungFooBob wrote: Tue Jul 13, 2021 4:21 pm The fun with the JDM 400's is that they were made to make 60bhp, not restricted to 60bhp, so the cams, valves, cranks, etc.. are all designed to handle 60bhp. Getting more won't just be a pipe and jet kit :)

Couchie mentions the bike has seen the track before, but not if it's tuned, we might all be very surprised.
A lot of them have speed limiters that cut in at 180 km/h, the easy way to get round this is to use a mechanical kmh to mph converter, this way the speed limiter cuts in at 180 mph.
I hit the limiter once on my little 33bhp restricted CB1. That was with the 18 year old me on board, on the A34 downhill with a strong tailwind.

Had a couple of hours today, finished tidying loom round clocks and cut down all the unneeded brackets.
Stripped rear end and fitted new shock and linkage, came apart fairly east which was good. Going to continue the build and worry about cosmetics over winter. Tomorrow should be fork strip modify and build. Then it’s brakes, exhaust and dyno

Caliper off a 929/954/600rr3 is a cheap bolt on upgrade, few grams less due to alloy piston, more important alloy pistons can't rust.

I need to get photos but, had rear caliper hanger and axles blasted then reassembled rear wheel with new chain and sprockets. Stripped forks and sent fork bottoms off to be painted and discs to be cleaned and painted. Still leaving most of the cosmetics till winter but it won’t look too bad. Hopefully up on its wheels next week. Brakes next with caliper and m/cal strip and new lines, Then I’ll strip carbs and fit new jets, put ignitech ecu in and modify air filter. After that it’ll be wheeled over to exhaust man for a longer can that’ll be higher and more tucked in. Classic Trackday booked for end of September so plenty of time 👍

Yes. Bolt on swap into your existing bracket.

Rearsets fitted back today, still waiting on forks so thought I’d get the carbs off and fit the jet kit. All came off really easy, new carb rubbers already on and everything greased etc. Someone had obviously been in recently, but the carbs each had a different size main jet lol, and one of the vacuum screws on the inlet was too long and poking through into the inlet tract by 10mm, may be why that one had the largest jet 🤣. All back together now and just the front end and a few little things to do then I may take some photos 👍

I was quite surprised for the few quid they cost, he did some NC30 ones but with them he also painted the centres. Same bloke has my fork bottoms too, about the only bits I’m getting painted until winter when I’ll do a full strip down.

Not sure, I’ve got a few bits with him so haven’t seen the bill yet. I’ll let you know when I do 👍
