Well used car prices are up anywhere between 10-20% according to the news tonight, so maybe its affected bike prices as well? My cars deffo going up for sale for ridiculous money! If it goes, it'll be a right result. If it stays, then roof down time as per normal. Win Win really!
Bloke at work has just bought a 10 plate 330 cabby, it's well leggy 106k and looks well used, but I still like it. I'm probably going to look at this on Saturday...

Yup when Weeksy bought his XSR you could get nearly new for 7k, like few months old with <500 miles. Now people are asking that for 3 year old ones with lots more miles and if you are happy with spending a bit more you'd be better off buying brand new as the gap isn't that big.
Same with Z9s and GSXS's. A 2017 GSXS 750 with say 5k miles is 6kish. You can get a brand new pre reg for 7k with lower rate of finance.
Last year rising prices and shortages of stock were being blamed on two things.
one - the shipping container crisis - they all got stuck in the US and India when COVID shut down the shipyards, and the Chinese stopped making new ones. At one point it was so bad in India that the government were paying for empty containers to be shipped back to the docks.
two - a shortage of electrical components to finish builds
But you'd have to think that well over a year later that situation had largely resolved itself.
I was bike shopping yesterday and was inquiring about new 900 Tracer GT’s.
The guy had one in that was still in its crate and was sold already. He blames the shortage of that bike in particular to the supply still being stuck on the Ever Given.
That might be just a story but I have certainly read there are bikes on it.
I bought an immaculate, original spec KTM RC8R for £5500 18 months ago to go alongside my RC8.. Did a few little jobs on it, then decided to move home.
So sold the RC8R to my mate for £6000 six months after buying it, so I was about £150 up. He just sold it for £9,500 after owning it for a year. He had spent a few hundred quid on a minor service and a new rear tyre. Only had it advertised (at £9750) for a few days too.
