It's got low mileage tyres though!

Re: 1977 Yamaha TZ750
It's very original and very expensive, I'd like a go on one just to see what they're like, I reckon it's going to be about 130bhp as a TZ350 is about 65bhp, the power delivery will probably be interesting.
Though I doubt if that one runs as it should, the crank seals have probably gone hard and no longer seal

Re: 1977 Yamaha TZ750
The bigger issue is the crankcases were of cheese & are likely to be warped all to hell. Someone in the US(?) started making new cases for them a few years ago.Le_Fromage_Grande wrote: ↑Mon Jul 12, 2021 10:37 am It's very original and very expensive, I'd like a go on one just to see what they're like, I reckon it's going to be about 130bhp as a TZ350 is about 65bhp, the power delivery will probably be interesting.

It doesn't look like it's been run since 1976, I doubt if the crankcases warp with no use.

Fook.
There's some asking money for old race stuff, isn't there. I wonder what it'll actually fetch.
A few years ago I watched a mate spanner Tom Herron's old TZ750 for a parade run around the Dundrod UGP circuit. Another friend was Herron's team mate for a while and he got to ride the bike. It looked a lot easier to work on than any modern superbike!

Re: 1977 Yamaha TZ750
They're easy to work on, they're basically two TZ350 engines joined at the hip, if you can rebuild an LC, you can rebuild a TZ, but the good race engines are made up from carefully matched parts.Skub wrote: ↑Mon Jul 12, 2021 4:27 pm Fook.

I should weigh my two brand new YPVS pistons to see how much difference there is in the weight of them, not that it matters on that bike because I haven't weighed the crank components.
