Re: What have you done today thread?
2 x physio and a french lesson.
The lessons with this teacher are seriously good/hard!! By the end of each 1.5 hours, I feel like my brain is melting out of my ears!!!! You've have thought that, living in an area well known for melted cheese dishes, I would remember the word for melt!! LOL LOL
My second physio complimented me on my spoken French I did have to give up trying to speak it as his fingers dug further into shoulder/arm muscles that needed 'releasing'!! LOL
A mate come over to meet the kitten too, we had a great chat and her hubby is going to come over next week to help me sort out what to do with the bastard-blownup VW minibus - which is fab (he's French so better to talk to him about navigating the good and bad about it)
Currently chilling with the moglet and waiting for a text cos might be meeting a couple of friends for a 'lemonade' later.
Here's hoping the sun stays out for the weekend so I can do some warmer swimming

Be prepared for slow progress to start but it will come with time as long as you dont push too much at the start. Once you have some strength back in it swimming is superb for any recovery on joints as low impact but gives resistancer1flyguy wrote: ↑Thu Jul 08, 2021 12:23 pm Just had my cast off my left wrist after 5 weeks, stiff, smelly, bruised and still sore, but my arm has a great tan line and feels lighter if nothing else
Amazing how little movement I have in it at the moment, physiotherapist gave me a book of exercises to do daily so I’ll crack on (no pun intended) with those.

WooT!! Solved the power off issue & got the tv hung on a wall.. that was a bit sketchy by myself.
...especially as the top of the tv is only 5in from the ceiling
reflection from lights is not an issue from the bed or the computer desk etc. Will sort cables later & also have to tilt it forward a bit

Built Ikea stuff for the creche at Church. My son came with me, so I treated him to lunch and an elderflower cider. I had porter and a lentil dish that was as good as one I had in Jaipur a few years ago. Definitely going back there as the young man likes the cider too! Took daughter to her friend this evening so she can head into London for a night out. Will collect her later on tonight, so dad's taxi is getting good use. All in all a lovely day where I've been able to spend time with family. Tomorrow is my day off, no idea what I'll be doing and I'm not going to sweat it.

I got that the first (and only) time I went clay pidgeon shooting. First time I'd held and shot that sort of gun. No bugger told me to hold it tight to my shoulder

Today I took a friend down to the valley - we were going to have a chilled walk around the market, then go for coffee and a bacon sarnie!! Due to her hangover we had to go somewhere different for a coffee hit, then do a short walk to the market and back to go to the bacon sarnie cafe as soon as they opened!! LOL LOL
Been a good day today :
Well, apart from my kitten being seriously weird!! LOL She settled on me with her back legs on my shoulder, her front legs over the front of my top and her head stuffed inside my top daft little weirdo!!

Re: What have you done today thread?
Woke up from my early evening nap, discovered the news had ended & "Miss California 2021" was on.
By christ, there were some poor choices. One looked like Zuckerberg in drag, another had to be pushing 200lb. Quite a few looked like they had a hard time giving up meth or donuts. However, about half of the final 11 weren't too shabby. Changed the channel at that point & watched the first episode of Black Sheep Squardon.

That's why I put a Knox CompStock on my Mossberg 590. Has a spring/cam doodad inside it that compresses to take the recoil. Makes shooting deer slugs feel like you're shooting #8 birdshot.

Went for a walk round the Market .Chopped down an enormous Yucca plant that was originally a houseplant 20 years ago when I first planted it outside - within minutes of starting I managing to poke myself in the eye .

Met M down on the front for a beer while the temperature dropped off a bit then swam out to the boat and wired in the all singing and dancing fish finder/sonar/GPS/kitchen sink unit. It's all good but I suspect it's only going to tell me what most of us really know - there are very few fish. It also seems I have fixed the fuel problem so generally happy about boat things.

Re: What have you done today thread?
Had a yarn with my Da this afternoon. Talking old times and him putting names to old photos led us to deep places. He and I are much alike and as such we were in confrontation for most of my teenage years.Neither of us would win conversationalist of the year,so not much talking took place during those years. I was mostly a cunt.
He's from the era when emotions were kept tightly under wraps and you just got on with shit. It's taken us 50 odd years get around to talking about past events and shedding a few cathartic tears. I'm grateful for both of us that we've had the chance to do that.
