Is the cage over the tank cap to stop the engine hand grenade fragments hitting the rider?

Yes and no, overall shape I like, but the detailing is like something off a Studebaker

and if you 'must' tack it on the front, at least have the wire coming out the fairing behind the light, not exposed like that !

I can't help but think it's a shame that an original Benelli 354 has been ripped apart to make this. There can't be many of them left.
