They have been going on well before covid, it's just the media are as usual making examples out of the ones that are happening lately whilst showing videos in the news with 100,000s of football fans without a mention of social distancing, but that's all well and good, as they make a lot of money out of football.

It's also worth remembering that the stadiums are operating at reduced capacity and that fans have to be fully vaccinated/negative test and provide their details for contact tracing. I.e. it's not just a random free for all.

You cam hardly claim it's biased for football either, pilot music events of steadily larger sizes have been going on for months haven't they?

I don't necessarily think they've got it 100% correct, but i wouldn't claim it's just "anything goes 'cause it's football"

Fair enough, but they are still quite positive reports, unlike the ones for most raves that have got shut down.

Where are the arrests? where are the reports of how terrible these people are for gathering in such large crowds? Most of the raves have been maybe 1000 people, we are talking hundreds of thousands of football fans all over the country.

The music events have been going on but with limited capacity and social distancing, 60,000+ football fans hugging each other isn't social distancing, and you can't say they are distanced in the stadiums either, as you can see them in high numbers also all hugging etc in the stands.

If they show all this happening in the news and in the media, then what do they expect when they find loads of illegal raves going on also, there is no difference and if they don't want the raves to happen them maybe they shouldn't let other events go ahead that contradict everything they say we shouldn't do.

Have they even released the reports for the pilot music events they done months back, they hadn't a few weeks ago!

Well, I think the clue's in the name there.

The sports/music events have been carefully controlled in terms of numbers allowed in, negative tests being mandatory, etc, etc. with traceability after the event.

An illegal rave is, well, none of the above, and kind of, you know...illegal. You might as well compare apples and condoms.

So no, it ain't all about the money in any way, shape or form.
