He has elbows, back, shoulder on.

Knees, he's got a big gash on his knee from scooter crash and can't get them on without opening it up again. Every other pic he has knees on though

Today our boy kinda fucked up a load of our plans for summer LOL. Swinley Summit are running a 6 day course/skills/training school in summer. The end result is that some of them will be entered into a race series later in the year as 'summit development' riders. So obviously from my lads perspective this was a no brainer. From our perspective it means the family holiday has gone out the window and will need rearranging completely, which is, shall we say, a bit sodding inconvenient.
But hey, we do nice things for our kids don't we.

As I am sure most of you are aware, Vitus, our incredible bike supplier are shooting in Swinley Forest this week. Vitus have asked if we have any amazing youth riders who would like to be a part of their new branding shoot. Of course, we said there are so many to choose from and your children have been chosen.

This week the boy has been invited to be part of a Vitus photoshoot, which should be absolutely epic. Will be interesting to see what he makes of another model and make of bike as he doesn't often get to ride and jump anything other than his usual bike.

We've got to give permission for the images to be used on Wiggle/CRC media and website... i think the boy may wet himself.

Great thread and Impressive stuff, I worked with some real hard ass MTB riders, mostly on Specialized carbon etc. Absolutely crazy money some of them spend…
My boy, (10 in March) had zero interest in bikes but this week we have persevered and he’s riding now, well more wobbling, but a huge leap (pardon the pun) from last week.

My lad is starting to think more and more about where and what in terms of biking and this is now looking favourite.

EWS, Enduro World Series. It's basically a pedally version of Downhill.


He really impressed me on Sat and Sun, well, all the youngsters did actually, both in terms of enthusiasm and ability... but another thing that impressed me was his desire to stay with the others. When we're out, he often is a bit weak in terms of pushing himself at times, but at the weekend, if someone else went quicker on the flat, then so did he, if someone else went up stuff, he went up. Then of course on the downhills, he led them down the trails and wasn't caught... Which all bodes well.

This weekend is La Thuile. Sadly for us though, whilst it makes it onto Pinkbike, both for pics and videos, it doesn't make it onto live coverage anywhere.

Started his "training" today. Was a bit of an introduction day to meet all the others.

They then did some dual slalom races, the boy won 5/5. He's in the advanced group for the next 3 weeks tuition. Which without sounding too cocky doesn't shock me. He's so much better than the others.

I'm very much waiting to see how his next 2 races go as he's grouped in an age category that's more suited instead of racing people who are almost 17.

Hopefully he'll pick up some more knowledge before them.

Well it looks like the boy now has races 3 weekends on the bounce.

11/12th in Caersws for Downhil Gravity series.
19th at Forest of Dean for Downhill
26/27th for Southern Enduro series.

FoD downhill? Nah, not for me matey. DH is a little out of my depth and I'll just end up holding people up.

I'm riding both the southern enduro series, but the DH stuff, he's on his own.

So I drove over to see and took his full face and armour. Rules are, he can't do stupid stuff without a grown up and permission.




What you don't see is, it is actually a road, between 2 different woods, not quite 2 lanes wide, but you'd get a Sprinter down the road. Proper proper balls.
