My boss-eyed, twat-faced, hound.

Love her to bits.
You would probably get on with me as I also identify as Astigmatic (boss eyed for the less technically edumacted amongst us).
Let's give it a go. I'll throw the ball, you bring it back, ad infinitum.

So you're offering companionship, free food and lodgings, all medical bills covered, no work, etc.?

From what I understand you won't have any "Balls" to chase, they will have been snipped. First point of call if hound is not required to sire.

This popped up on my FB feed from 2015, happy days with Sith Hound No.1 (he’s a lot slower now but still just as noisy, but then, so am I).

Over the weekend i finally got a chance to build the double step so we can actually use both the French doors. Of course i got mugged by having to buy wood from Homebase and that takes some sorting through to find straight unwarpped wood and then having to pay their prices, but the job is (finally) done!

2nd thing was my nephew and others wanting to come round my place to watch the England game tomorrow night! I love it that everyone sees my place as the family hub.

I remember trying to buy wood at Wickes when it was click and collect only, at one point I had them bring all three 6' side gates they had out the front so i could pick the least knackered one. Surprisingly all of the wood I've had delivered from them has been decent quality, I expected the shop leftovers.

I got the boat back in the water but within a couple of minutes I saw petrol coming out of what is probably a vent tube under the engine. I disconnected the fuel pipe and the 'leak' stopped but I still had enough fuel in the system to get me onto my mooring. The engine is a Mercury 40 hp EFI and I don't really do fuel injection (or common rail diesels for that matter) but I understand the principles and this fuel escaping is on the low pressure side. And I have a service manual . . .

Low pressure fuel is pumped to a Vapour Separation Tank (VST) which is where the high pressure pump is located and where a float and needle valve also resides. It pretty much has to be the needle valve is stuck open (the engine has not been run for 18 months although I started it up after servicing it a few days ago) or the float is buggered. However, to confirm my suspicions I messaged a bloke in Oz who knows about these things and when I got up this morning he'd replied, telling me my suspicions were correct. That made me very happy!

I also found a YT vid showing removal of the VST so all I have to do is sort it. Which is easier said than done as the boat is sitting in 10 metres of water and the engine, although tilted back, is not fully over the boat. Meh. What could go wrong? I have bought new stainless steel hose clamps as I'm going to have to cut the old ones off. Hopefully I won't need any more spares and I'll still be happy.

I managed to avoid that but it was a concern. There were no springs.
For some reason the float wasn't moving smoothly so I cleaned everything, made sure the float and needle valve were sitting right and put it all back together. Sitting in the bottom shroud somewhere is one of the mounting rubbers but the VST itself can't go anywhere. It'll be reet.

Camping tonight, rain has just started on the tent.

Spent the evening with friends who live close to the campsite.

The sense of community here on the campsite.

There's several tour operators and we all help each other out.

Today for example I have a dentist appointment at 11am and a technician coming to repair one of the mobile homes at.... you guessed it 11am.

Not one, but two people working for other operators have offered to 'show in' and supervise the technician while I'm getting my face drilled.

Might have been friendlier to volunteer having their face drilled while you sorted the techy.....

Having your daughter being asked out on a date by the waiter in a restaurant. She asked him if the staff got to keep their tips and when he replied that they did she handed over a tenner. Cocky young lad, he asked if he could swap the tip for an evening out. 😂

I had to admire his chutzpah and told him as much.
