Pit bike torque settings

Post by Trogladyte »

Can anyone suggest what sensible torque settings would be on the caliper bolts (caliper to fork leg). They are tiny little bolts - the head size is 8mm. The 10mm head bolts are rated at 10 NM, but that seems far too little for caliper bolts, so I have done them to 15NM. It still seems not tight enough to me, but as the whole thing is made of Wensleydale, I don't want to strip anything.

Any idea?

(or lock wire them if you're really worried)
The Le Mans ones which I did a month ago are M8s with a 13mm head are 25Nm. I'd be happy with 10Nm and Blue locitite.
