What pressure gauge ?

My pressure gauge seems rubbish doing the rear on the ZX6R and won't 'sit' right on it. Not sure if that's a fault of the valve, the user, or the gauge.

But thought i'd look into a new one just in case.

What's the recommendation ?

I use my Topeak D2 mtb gauge. It's a bit fiddly to use but does the job.

Should be getting my new one tomorrow.

Will be interesting to see what it reads compared to my others, there's 3psi difference between mine, which when it comes to certain rubber these days can actually be quite a difference

I've always found the cheap and cheerful pen type gauges to be most reliable and accurate. I've one from the 70s which still reads the same as others more expensive!

I'm not adverse to blingy ones tho....

I would suggest mine (that's how this works right?), a nice heavy metal bodied Halfords jobbie, but they don't sell them any longer, it's been with me and used every week for years n years.

I recently bought a Venhill https://www.venhill.co.uk/tools/tyre-am ... -vt32.html gauge. It has a very good quality feel to it, and holds the reading until you press a valve to release the needle. Its flexible hose also makes it easy to position if correctly. Recommended - although not for carrying with you, as it's a bit heavy.

Sure others are just as good though but it works well.....

My Topeak MTB is the most accurate - I also have a Halfords cheap digital that works well.

I've got a couple of these- have proved accurate whenever I've checked them and so much easier to use than the faffy little Halford type battery-operated jobbies

I use a Venhill gauge which I used for racing but just the odd occasional track day now and road, it holds peak psi until you release it and allows you to bleed off excess air if needed.

Find one and stick with that, use that one across the board for accurate readings, like you say 3psi can make a difference depending on tyres riding etc.
