The religious comments are the result of people asking questions - should he not answer?
Did I suggest that?
I know. But if someone asks a question in a thread, should he say "just go to the religious section and I'll answer there"??
No, because a post about baptismal pools would begin there ;)

The old place was a bit more rigorous about sky fairies. :hmmm:

So, he can't post about setting up the pool? As his job is being a Priest, if he posts on the "what have you done today" thread, it will likely have some reference to religion. You want to ban priests from posting about their day in the 'your day' thread??

Managed to grab a bacon bap on the walk home so all is well in the world.
Just had the call of dread from the garage:

Service circa £300 due to it being 36k major service on xdrive BMW - main dealer gave guesstimate of £500+ depending on what came up on inspection

Replacement adjustable headlight links (seized) £10 each x 4, fitting £30 - main dealer £15-20 each plus £100 fitting for all four

Front discs and pads - estimate BMW parts £500, Brembo £250, garage not doing as can’t get stock today, BMW fitting would be £200+ - courier will drop off Brembo kit tomorrow, I’ll fit on Friday / Saturday / Sunday as garage is stacked out and it isn’t a difficult job with all the correct tools.

Two rear tyres at 2mm, one front at 2.3mm - kwikfit sorting on Saturday for £110 per wheel for Goodyear Excellence fitted at home, goodnesss knows what the dealer would charge!

Given my permanent status of WFH, I suspect a minor service in 2 years time and hand it back 6 months after that, so not bad for 4 years motoring

I'm also ordained clergy, but a humanist/realist *sect*, so none of the superstitious nonsense etc. Friend found out I could perform marriages & asked if I would do his if he got married again. Perhaps religion should have a separate space here, like politics.
No, that'd be silly.

We have sections for various prominent topics and potential discussions. That's not one.
Sorry, did some people mistake my post above for a debate on what I should do? I thought it was clear, his posts are fine, simple as that.
We won't be sectioning him or them off.

End of that discussion.

I'll admit to being confused, so it wasn't clear to me. You stated that religious posts are both ok, & not ok. So which is it? Just asking for clarification, not a debate.

Lol really. I stated they're perfectly fine and won't be being moved into a section of their own.

Right, gotcha :) It was the "That's not one" part that confuzzled me, thought you were saying it's not a subject for "potential discussion"

I went swimming again today. Missed yesterday with appointments and a knee physio that made me feel that swimming probably wasn't a good idea straight after!!

So, today I went in to make up for missing a day! Borrowed a resistance thingy so be able to do a certain exercise to help a particular area that hurts when I do exercises for it out of the pool. In the pool, even with resistance, the muscles don't hurt - but damn they ache now!!

Anyway - I'd done 10 lengths of various types of swimming each of the three days I'd been before

Today , 14 :bblonde: :bblonde: -
11.5 lengths of breaststroke
2 lengths of back stroke
0.5 lengths of crawl!! Really can't get the breathing right, but at least my arm seems to be ok for it

In between each length I stop and do various exercises for knees or shoulder so don't get a lot of rest - not that rest was good today, damn it was cold!!

So, now my shoulder and arm aches, my legs ache and my back aches!! But, it was really good for me!! LOL

Then I went to shoulder physio and had a really good chat about the TdF (he road cycles and I think used to race - that annoying kind of person that lives in resort but will cycle down the mountain to meet friends to do a big cycle up and down and different mountain, then cycle back to resort  ). We had a really interesting chat about it :D

He also knows the lifeguard at the pool and told me to talk to that guy to get some help with my swimming. I'm not really a swimmer, don't really like it. But it will be really good for my shoulder and knees, and in general, so I should learn to swim properly so that as I get fitter/stronger, I can swim more without messing up!! LOL

Tomorrow I have a medical apt in Annecy, then back to the valley for a french lesson then home in time to use the pool - hopefully. It's open earlier from Saturday so more chance that I can get to the pool even when I have to go do stuff!! :D :D

Back from LAX, took an hour to get there & 3 hours to get back.
Found someones discarded crack outside Terminal 1. Pointed it out to a rozzer, 4 more showed up & after some discussion they decided to just throw it in a trashcan instead of dealing with the paperwork.
He asked "What were you doing over here?"
(It's a patch of dirt right outside the Terminal 1 parking structure, everyone uses the area for their dogs to take care of business...)
I point at the dog & say "He was peeing right there" as I point at the wet spot next to the cops left foot.
Cop: What makes you think it's drugs?"
Me: I had a colorful past before I became the upstanding pillar of the community you see before you. That ain't grandma's cookies
Two of the other cops caught the humor & burst out laughing.

Fixed the AC on the Honda Shitbox for $60, just a smidge better than the $1400 the dealer wanted. Fuckers.

We went out for breakfast, then dropped the car off to have window tinting film fitted, we decided to have a wander whilst we waited and that then turned into a shopping trip and then turned into lunch and then mid-afternoon coffee and cake.

Witnessed an accident.

Missus Bwana and I were headed out to our favorite restaurant. At a traffic light a block or so away we got some special entertainment.

The road there has two lanes in each direction with a central turning lane. As we're approaching the intersection the light was red. There were a few vehicles in the left lane and none in the right lane. The right lane ends just before you get to the restaurant's parking lot. The last two vehicles in line ahead of me were a black Jeep and a red pickup truck. The black jeep pulls into the right lane and stops next to the red truck. Apparently they knew each other and are having a conversation. The light turns green. They sit there chatting.

There are a couple of vehicles behind me, one is another truck pulling a trailer. The other car pulls around into the right lane and honks (other cars were honking too). The jeep pulls away but the asshole in the red truck just sits there. The truck behind me, the one with the trailer pulls into the right lane and proceeds ahead. Red truck now accelerates matching trailer's speed so that the two trucks are side by side. Red truck then drifts well into trailer man's lane. They make contact. Red truck man carries on, in contact with trailer man's truck for a bit. Long enough it's obvious he's either having a health issue, drunk, or trying to cause trouble.

Trailer man slows, red truck gets in front of him. By this time we're right in front of the restaurant and the right lane is narrowing. They're stopped now, trailer man's bumper has ploughed into red truck's arse end. I think red truck got over with no room to spare and hit his brakes, forcing the accident. Trailer man jumps out and hoofs it to red truck's door while shouting. We go around and park at the restaurant. Missus Bwana wants none of this. I'm thinking a witness will be needed when the cops show up.

Turns out I'm right. Red truck, the one that forced his way into the lane made full contact side to side and then got in front forcing trailer man into rear ending him is all shouty with the cops about how red truck man side swiped him then rammed him. The first cop on the scene has his hands full keeping the two men apart.

Red truck man is now laughing at trailer man, taunting him to come over his way to fight him. Second cop arrives. First cop is talking to red truck man, second cop is with trailer man. Red truck man is ranting about how trailer man knocked his mirror off his truck and then rammed him. I make my presence obvious to the second cop. He gets trailer man to get back in his truck and approaches me. I tell him what I witnessed and give him my details. Somewhere in this trailer man's wife is shouting at trailer man to settle down. Understandably he's rather pissed off as it looks like he's getting railroaded. He sees me telling the cop my side, I let him know I saw exactly what happened and I'm not standing for the bullshit and he settles down. I talk to the first cop at the second cop's request. He gets my details too.

Missus Bwana and I go inside. Red truck man has two passengers. Both are intoxicated. A woman was in the front passenger seat and she's fucking wasted. Apparently while I was talking to the cops she runs into the restaurant and starts screaming obscenities. Missus Bwana also tells me she was busy flipping birds at the vehicles that were going around them. Drunk bitch storms out. Then comes back in and tries to buy a drink to take back to the scene. She gets asked to leave and comes back in repeatedly, taking a seat at one of the tables. On one of her trips in they give her a plastic cup full of water to shut her up. She's fucked up enough she's having trouble walking a straight line. Eventually the other shitbag that was in the back seat comes in and they both get escorted out for the last time.

Neither truck was damaged enough to need a tow. However, trailer man drives off after the cops are done talking to him. Then a wrecker shows up. Drunk man is on his phone, presumably summoning a ride. I never saw red truck man again. His truck got towed.

No ride today, shitty weather stopped play,so spent some time cleaning in around the rear wheel. Gave it a good coat of ACF.

I'll be taking loose wheels for the next tyre change,by fook those boyos had the rear axle nut screaming tight, well beyond what's needed.
