LOL Apparently it needs an engine, or is that considered a consumable?weeksy wrote: ↑Mon Jun 28, 2021 4:55 pm https://www.facebook.com/marketplace/it ... 186197034/

I had a very similar (gp)z550d1. Fairly reliable (apart from terrible coils and very susceptible to rust). This was 25 years ago as well, amazed any have survived!millemille wrote: ↑Mon Jun 28, 2021 3:19 pm Having organised the very first LDDD (which went on to become the LDC) back in 2013, and took part as well - along with @porter_jamie - it's an experience well worth having.

It's finding them too that's an issue.
There's also the other costs to consider here
£300 entry.
£260 fuel + ferry £9.
£297 bike
That doesn't include a hotel at start or end. So really looking at a grand. Sure it's a grand spent for a good cause, but if doing it either privately or as a forum entry it needs to be considered

Where ever you are in the country it is the best part of 2,000 miles (home to Lands end, lands to JoG, JoG to home) in 3 days.
Not to be sniffed at.

If you're getting on a ferry near Inverness something's gone wrong!
They get a ferry on the west coast of Scotland south of Glasgow that takes you north to get past Glasgow, avoiding the need to battle through the weegies.

Slightly north of Inverness, down via the Black isle, Nigg to Cromarty maybe. Nigg is oil rig central, they park spare rigs there. Cromarty is very pretty.
