iPhone 11s destroyed by Quadlock mounts

Post by Mr Moofo »

Mine has just gone tits up, reports ion other sites of the same. But the mounting on a bike on a quadlock seems to destroy the stabilisation systems in your camera.

More updates after I have talked with Apple tomorrow - BTW it has been used as a GPS once ...

(Reports on the other place as well)

I hadn't heard about this issue before this week. I use my XR on my MTB with quadlock pretty regularly. I have started using strava through my apple watch though so maybe I'll stop putting it on my handlebars.

Not sure if this would be covered with the applecare insurance I have with my phone if it did go kaputt?

It's easy to see with hindsight it's not surprising a bike killed a phone ( just about any top phone ). Look at this video, FF to 5 mins then look how delicate the cameras are.

This is one weird guy, all he seems to do is destroy phones but I do like to see the insides which are mindblowingly complex.

Talked with Apple today, who were in fact very good on the customer service side. Obviously, it has never, ever happened with anyone else, so it needs looking at.
Apple stores aren’t open but authorised retailer are .... so I could drive to Crawley if I wanted ( providing they will see me/ have an appoint free in ten next year).
Bugger that - so they are picking up - and promise a 10 day turnaround.

But would fess up that it was an issue - as I said I would be requested in refund if I cannot use the GPS set up

i sent mine away and got it back very quickly, with in 5 days, have they said anything about the issue??? i had no notes or anything about what was done or possible cause, just on the phone now to see if they can shed some light on it.
