Having sold my 2005 model ZX10R to fund some training in 2009 I was able to purchase a new ZX10R.
I then set about modding it to how I thought it should be!! In 2016 the winter test model was released & I loved it so knowing my 09’ was worth nothing in trade in I added the winter test mod to the garage. That one is standard but for the end can, tail tidy & screen. The 09 however is visually unchanged to the ‘untrained’ eye but cosmetically it’s a different beast entirely.

The Tens are great bikes. I had an 04 C1 for almost 15 years,I'd love to have kept it,but I don't really have the space to do the multi bike thing! I came away from sportsbikes to keep me away from the big numbers on the road,a naked bike helps in that respect,though it does allow you to be a tool in other ways.r1flyguy wrote: ↑Thu Jun 24, 2021 1:04 pm

Usually its an exhaust and crash bungs, though my 9R really benefitted from an Ohlins shock. The ZH2 is a definite keeper, it came with an exhaust that just needed de-corking. Crash Bungs and rad guard fitted and a new shock is on the way. Oh and a saddle maybe after someone here posted something @Skub !

I'd kill for crash bungs on my current bike, but the only crash protection makes it look a little too much like a learning centre bike

Although to be fair I'm more concerned over dropping rather than crashing

I'm all for folk enjoying what they bought,other folk don't have a right to tell you how to spend your money,or justify which bike to buy. If there were such stipulations,very few would qualify!

After 44 years of owning all sorts of bikes from Mobylettes through to an RC8R, I now have the four bikes that cover my needs.
Something to ride on the hundreds of kms of gravel tracks. Something flickable to use on the twisty mountain roads. Something that will sit on the motorways, with all my luggage safely secure for my trips across Europe, and a scooter for local trips to do the shopping.Youngest bike is two years old (purchased new) the oldest 20 years old.
Plus no longer working means I can enjoy them all now, no more 20,000 miles per annum commuting.

Weeeeell... most of them were abandoned in my parents' garage... along with my brother's bikes. When we did the house clearance after they died, it was like a Time Team dig. The further back you went, the older they got! If I'd had the enthusiasm, I could have stripped some of them for classic parts!
I did donate my collection of 400-Fs to Bike Breaker. She still owes me a ride on the one she was going to put back together!
