Cross threading

Post by Lutin »

This is an odd one. On the front page just now, there's a post by rodbargee under the title "!970 Norton Commando new to me and ride report" as shown here -

However, when I click on it, it takes me to the thread "laverda rear brake rebuild".

Bit odd I think you'll agree.
Blundering about trying not to make too much of a hash of things.

Rodbargee changed the title in his post, that's what the forum is displaying rather than the true thread title.

Edit, yup it's done gone done it for this thread now too

Ah awesome, thanks.

I can go through them 1 by 1 and change, it's a pain but possible.

It's above may pay grade chief, but technically it shouldn't be doing it I would have thought / it ain't something I've seen before after spending too many years on the internet

Editing a thread title after others have posted doesn't propagate back through their posts, I've had it a few times when changing trackday threads.

I'm not sure there's a fix I can do over than editing them. Certainly nothing I'm aware of.

I can ask over on phpbb forum though

The database stores the thread link ID. But can use the thread title for searches. It's simple on the surface but can be strange at index level.
