Stating the fecking obvious thread....

Post by WelshDragon »

I seem to be saying ‘no sh*t Sherlock’ rather a lot at the moment. Is it just me??

Here’s one example of why.

Climate change: Scientists fear car surge will see CO2 rebound

https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/science-environment-52724821

Isn’t that rather obvious? Super informative and insightful journalism, that’s for sure! :wtf:

I manage to get by with "WHY?".

"The PM has announced that the lockdown is being eased, now over to our CV reporter in Downing Street".

We see numpty in Downing street. Shakes head, looks puzzled, looks at camera, nods.

"I am here in Downing Street to report that Boris has eased the lockdown, now back to the studio, Alfred Numpty for the BBC, Downing street."

WHY ? WHY ? WHY ?

That's because the BBC is staffed by our betters who think we're stupid. Maybe they are and maybe we are, who knows these days?

UK borrowing soars to cope with the impact of Covid 19. Did anyone really imagine that it wouldn’t or does Joe Public still believe in the magic money tree?

It's classic, lazy reporting on a slow moving story.
Tell them what you are going to tell them
Tell them
Remind them what you told them

And so it goes on and on........

They think we're stupid and have poor memories. :(

Exactly like so many TV programmes! And it's one of the main reasons I watch so little TV these days. Dumbing down to the lowest common denominator. I fucking hate it!

  • "Coming up in today's show: A,B,C"
  • [Today's show starts and shows... A,B,C] (I fucking knew that was coming! In fact I don't really need to watch it again cos you've already fucking shown it once!!)
  • "Coming up after the break: X,Y,Z"
  • <ADVERTS>
  • "Before the break we saw: A,B,C" I know, I'd seen the fucker TWICE!! And now I've just seen it for a third time!
  • [Programme continues and shows: X,Y,Z] Just like they told us. :x
  • Aaarrrggghhhhhhhhh!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

And breathe! :shifty:

The NHS in England is going to be behind on its day to day workload because of CV19. Well given every department, operation and treatment was stopped for a very small percentage of very sick people then that’s not a surprise is it? Just you watch the press take hold of it and poke the Government in the eye for the rest of 2020 and beyond. What have we turned in to?

Finger pointing, litigious, compensation driven, selfish, ill informed, self congratulating, low moral standards....... I could go on.
It's been hoped that a shared peril, such as Covid 19 would bring us together.
What the hell is going on? I feel more isolated and different from others than ever when I witness what's happening at present.
I'm not at all religious, but I long for a community driven by some decent ideals. :(

Technology is going on. I think.

The world has changed almost in a blink of eye thanks to TV then the internet/phones.

The community people live in now fits into a pocket. I look in amazement in any eating place, people don't talk, they communicate by showing pictures of their virtual world on these screens. They hold a sort of conversation by alternately flashing screens. It seems that if it's not on a screen then it does not exist. A lot of the time what is on the screen is "me", look how good I am, look how I look exactly like all the other "me"s with the heavy makeup, the torn jeans, the heels. When food arrives the screen is put, reverently, down next to them to see if anyone has responded to "me" while they are eating.

The human brain has been taken over by very clever very rich people living in California.

This place is amazing, we show pictures of bikes, we show pictures of beautiful scenery. We are weird.

When quite a few people in the early days died from covid they contracted as in-patients in hospital, so probably not a bad move.

Never mind they could always put all the cancelled procedures into the Nightingales, oh hang on they don't have enough staff to man them. Anyone would think they went into this short of 10,000 doctors and 40,000 nurses....

Yeah. Only people I know who have had it are 2 stroke patients, both of whom caught it in hospital and both of whom survived, which we were glad about. They were white late 70 something males too, so didn’t fit the stats the way they should have done. Neither had serious CV19 symptoms either. Interesting.
