France had a series of national elections yesterday.
My dog could have been elected the turn out was so poor.
There was a 68% abstention rate overall.
It's a damning indictment of grass root feeling towards politicians, however, they dgaf about the little people anyway as long as there's room at the trough!

TBH I think it is a result of really poor politicians - and that is not just France. Weak policies, weak people, little idealistic vision - and snouts in troughs …

But also Nobody seems to understand how politics works - because of selective reading and intact of media, if people don’t 100% meet your views , then they are dismissed. I read some really frightening statistic that many millennials / Gen X pluses would be happy with an autocratic government - because they don’t want to make those sort of decisions.

I sincerely hope they don't get one. Very few dictatorships have turned out well.

TBH, so do i - but it is measure of the optical apathy or lack of understanding that exists at the moment. Hence the reason why a celeb was such a popular candidate in the US (that said, his replacement seems next to useless)

That would be 20% of the total population. I think the actual numbers for Obama were 64M to 60M for the other bloke while another 80M couldn't be bothered to vote. This time I think it was 74M to 68M?
