Recommend me (my daughter) a car with a big boot.

Middle daughter is expecting twins Dec/January and needs a car with a big boot to get a double pram is and associated baby stuff. She currently has an automatic Micra ( but a full licence) and boyfriend has an automatic Aygo and only an auto licence.

Doesn't want diesel (Glasgow id going ULEZ) if she can help it. Not got a price limit yet but I reckon below £15k

Yeah Skoda Superb has a proper 3 body boot. i'd have thought you can get one with the DSG auto box and a petrol engine.

EDIT....for your £15k you can get 3! Hardly the most glamorous of cars, but I'm guessing anyone who currently has a Micra Auto DGAS about such things.

Ford Mondeo, any model, any year, they've all got huge load areas and are nice to drive.

FWIW I can get Baby D's running buggy - which is bigger than a regular pram - all here paraphernalia and weekend bags for Mrs D and I into the boot of my 3 series saloon, I don't think you need to worry too much about getting a massive car.

Sorry, yes fat fingers/fast typing. trying to do some proper work and just come on here for a quick check. Mondeo may be oK and possibly cheaper on bits then a Skoda, however I do like VAG DSG autos and I don't know if the Mondeo auto is a dual clutch

I have a Skoda Octavia and it has been brilliant. Lots of rooms, cavernous boot on the hatchback version and it just works. Mine is basic model, but does everything very nicely thankyou. Also insurance is good, economy on the 1.4 is fine and it does motorway work quite happily as well. DSG versions are nice enough to drive (my brother had one), albeit that I have a six speed manual.

She's just got a 2nd hand pram/push chair combination thing. £750. New they are over £2k Everything for twins is expensive and prams even more so. This is a women that didn't want kids, pregency was a suprise to us all and twins was a complete shock as no previous form on either side of the family.

I had a 1.8l petrol Mazda 5, not much of a drivers car but superbly flexible for children and their assorted junk.

I had one of those too. Drank more oil than petrol though... but it was very good in terms of sliding doors and space use. the children liked it, but I hated driving it.
