Re: Electric Superbike Twente
I quite like that but I can't help thinking there will be a light bulb moment at some point with electric bikes. 'Now we don't need that central mass of an engine here's a much better way to distribute the weight.'

Scooter style, low-slung weight.
Also means the 'feet first' riding position is more easily achievable.

Think mass centralization has been the goal with conventional bikes for some time hasnt it?
Just the chubby draggy riders that are the main problem.

Re: Electric Superbike Twente
Having the weight too low affects traction and braking though so its a balance.

Re: Electric Superbike Twente
Having electric hub motors offers the option of regenerative ('engine') braking from both wheels instead of just the rear and, similarly, drive from both wheels.demographic wrote: ↑Sat Jun 19, 2021 8:33 amHaving the weight too low affects traction and braking though so its a balance.
IIRC low CoM (especially if with longer wheelbase) will reduce the likelihood of stoppies and improve rear grip for braking.

If it worked for Kaneda in Neo Tokyo I'll have one.......
"Of all the stories you told me, which ones were true and which ones weren't?"
"My dear Doctor, they're all true."
"Even the lies?"
