Given that EVERYTHING bad under Trump was Trumps fault (& everything good was because of Obama), it follows that the same standard applies to Biden. That's how it works... right?... As I mentioned elsewhere, I'm surprised it didn't all come crashing down under Trump & Biden was chosen to take the fall should it all come crashing down now.

Re: Insanity...
Here's an interesting way of looking at prices in the long-term: comparing it to gold!
Now, who was president when?

Re: Insanity...
The price of gas usually follows the price per barrel decided by OPEC.. however, when the US achieved energy independence under Trump prices of gas fell in the US & OPEC then lowered their price for oil. Now Biden had decided energy independence (for the US) is a bad thing & thrown thousands of oil workers out of work so we're back to the demands of OPEC.

Istr a year ago the US was actually an exporter of oil at negative prices. They had to pay people to take it away

About $40 per barrel IIRC. Now that really is insanity.Mr. Dazzle wrote: ↑Fri Jun 11, 2021 6:57 pm Istr a year ago the US was actually an exporter of oil at negative prices. They had to pay people to take it away

Increased production & then the collapse caused by the travel lockdown resulted in so much oil we ran out of places to store it. It dipped into negative numbers for a few days.Cousin Jack wrote: ↑Fri Jun 11, 2021 7:46 pmAbout $40 per barrel IIRC. What that shows is that the price of gold has increased more than the price of gasoline and diesel.

Re: Insanity...
We've got a bunch of newspaper reporters here blaming farmers for the lack of water in the reservoirs... Only problem with that is they were allocated zero water this year & they barely got any last year either.
One of the biggest pissers for the farmers in the central valley is they were forced to pay for the canal system to deliver water to their land (payments spread out over many years), & now they're still being forced to pay for the canal system, but aren't getting any water.

Was referring more to ABC, CNN, CBS, NBC & LA Times etc.
btw, Oroville is one of the reservoirs that was full two years ago with enough water for 5-6 years. San Luis Reservoir and Castaic are not pictured, but together they held another 1,899,337 acre feet, for a total of 18,825,150 acre feet.

Looks valid, it's the biggest one in my unit converter app equalling 1.2 megalitres for most of the rest of the world.

That is just the way stuff works. I am forced to pay for education yet my only child is 40+ years old. The farmers need to get over it.ZRX61 wrote: ↑Sat Jun 12, 2021 6:59 am

I think you missed the point, the payments include the delivery of water via the canal system they are paying for, but the water is being pissed away into the ocean instead.Cousin Jack wrote: ↑Wed Jun 16, 2021 9:56 amThat is just the way stuff works.
