My mum is forced to lie and says that I'm the owner of a dubious sex shop and my sister sells crack to children, just to avoid the shame of telling the neighbours what we really do for a living.
Edit: Sorry, Pseud. Wrong thread to make jokes in poor taste.
Thanks for all your kind thoughts. I appreciate it.
I get on great with my Sister's children, my Nieces/Nephew mean the world to me. She was a bully when we were growing up, but I put a stop to the physical part of it when we were in our twenties. She didn't attempt anything after that, just treated me with disdain.
I was asked to come up with something, about us as kids, for the celebrant, which I did manage to do. It is/was a funny story which was good, so I've asked my eldest Niece (who has arranged the whole funeral) to include that one. She did say it made her smile, so that's good!
My Mum is holding up quite well considering the order is all wrong, but as a family, we're keeping a watch on her. She's very stoic, which in some ways is a good thing, but in other ways, not. I'm the complete opposite in that I let my feelings out/wear my heart on my sleeve and let the tears flow.
Driving home just now, Stairway to Heaven came up, so I cranked up the volume as it's one of my all time favourite tracks. Next thing I know, I've got tears running down my face as it reminded me of how my Sister introduced me to my (now) lifelong love of rock music.
Still, it was a good memory.

You have a good memory (hopefully a few more). Those are the ones to think of.
Hugest hugs to you xxxx
