Just Another Four Weeks To Flatten The Curve?
The original "three weeks to flatten the curve" turned into 15 months. What's another four weeks*?
* Or eight, or twelve? Does anybody think it'll stop at just four weeks?

Let's all have Covid parties.
In 3 months we will all be recovered.
Or dead.
SL obviously thinks he will be OK.

Open up once we'd flattened the curve and when it became obvious who was at risk Protect the vulnerable and let the rest go about their business as normal. You know, like we should have done in April last year.

Well, I suppose you don't have to stick your fingers in your ears and go "lah lah lah not happening" if they're full of sand.

Seems the vulnerable are now the younger ones who havent had 2 jabs.
So us oldies can go out, but all the shops/pubs/restaurants will need to close.

No idea. None at all. But the sun is out and the lockdown is minimal, can't say I care either way
Re: Just Another Four Weeks To Flatten The Curve?
Exactly this, I don't even know what the restrictions are any more, not do I care as my life pretty much revolves around getting up in the morning and walking down stairs to the office for a day's worth of work.

I'm not sure either, but one is night clubs and the like opening up.
So seeing SL in a whole new (mirrorball) light.

I think you should all do as you're fecking well told, because until you do I can't reasonably swan over and visit my family.

Basically you can meet up to 29 other people outdoors, rule of 6 indoors or unlimited if only 2 households, inddor venues and restaurants have to follow covid safe rules, so for most people it is not that restrictive.

I find covid rules rather pleasant in pubs, still pretty packed but fairly easy to move around. If it was always like that I may frequent them more often.

Re: Just Another Four Weeks To Flatten The Curve?
The curves of deaths and hospitalisation are flat. Three additional deaths yesterday. 31 additional people in hospital with it.
I don't see the sense in continuing to limit people. But that said it has very little effect on me.

Re: Just Another Four Weeks To Flatten The Curve?
Well yeah, infections are rising but hospital admissions and deaths are not rising as much. Very little in fact, which is a good thing.
But deaths typically lag infection rises by 2 or 3 weeks don't they? So if they are gonna start going up then it'll start about now or later this week. Much too close to June 21st. Hopefully the vaccination programme is preventing that happening. And 4 weeks is 14 million more jabs.
Its not rocket surgery.

Re: Just Another Four Weeks To Flatten The Curve?
I thought deaths were about two weeks behind infections. And the lack of increase in hospital admissions would point to there being far fewer serious cases ergo deaths not about to increase significantly.

I guess being cautious isn't crazy. But it's not my business that's about to go pop.
I've also heard it said the restrictions were never just about public health. They were always being imposed by a government that found the pandemic a useful opportunity to asset-strip the country and consolidate power. Even if that's paranoid bollocks, don't we still have a load of people on furlough, running up the meter?
IMO it's time to get people back to work and stop all this covid bollocks. There's sufficient antibodies in the UK to do that.
