£20 needs attention…

Post by Taipan »

Saw this on marketplace and bought it. It was running okay but then stopped. Fuel line was split so he replaced it and now it starts and idled but won’t Rev. Took the cover off and petrol is leaking back out from somewhere? How do I fix it?
TIA

Can't be sure without seeing it in person but I think you need to replace the flux capacitor, then it'll be reet

Sounds like the gel packs have corrupted and blown the plasma relays, you'll have to reroute power through the main deflector.

Dunno about that but a while ago I got a Stihl chainsaw that needed another impulse pipe and carb diaphragm.
The impulse pipe runs from the inlet tract to the carb if I remember right and provides a bit of vacuum for the carb.
The carb didn't have a float bowl and the impulse pipe used the vacuum pulses to move the flat diaphragm.

It was a while ago and I can't remember details.

A complete new carb is likely about a tenner,. Fit one, it'll be easier than trying to fault find.

Normally it will be the return pipe from the tank that leaks. Take Chebs sound advice buy a new carb mine cost £18 for a similar unit. Easy fix.

Don't be silly, all it needs is a new power band. A red one will be besr, black will be overkill.

Needs bar risers and a pink paint makeover. It Essex innit??

On a more serious thought, I sorted a rotavator that had blocked jets and that was a pain. New carb is the answer as mentioned before.

Found out its an Aldi one. Will put another carb on but most of the ones I've seen in a quick scan on eBay have a plunger built in, where as the one on the strimmer doesn't. Its plunger is mounted on the upper bodywork. Ill get a model number and try mospares or suchlike.

The one that's on there looks like this...
