Yeah not the ideal winter car when snow blows in one side and out the other side.

Those skinny wheels and tyres will be better in the snow than the big wide things the other motors have.
True, but the really ideal winter car would keep the weather out as well.
There's no such thing as bad weather, only inappropriate clothing. If you buy a 2CV you just need to buy appropriate clothing.

I suppose I will need my winter weight shorts then.

My dad restored a 2CV6 for my sister as her first car. It got a brand new chassis and everything.

It was a horrid, horrid thing.

They don’t have much going for them.

They were successful as a cheap car that didn’t use much petrol.

A good one (the engines tend to be good or bad with nothing in between) is a great chuckable little car....they aren't very fast but will sit flat out all day. And you can get a small cow in the back.

My Ex's parents went to test drive one as 'mum' wanted one. 'Dad' drove it to the end of the road, turned around and gave it back.

I speak from experience when I say that owning older, 'interesting' cars is a novelty that wears thin very quickly, usually on the hard shoulder of a remote road.

I love the "See Yellow Pages for nearest dealer" in the small print.
I still want one.

(I've seen that some people put BMW R1150 engines in them..... )

I too want one, mostly because of their simplicity and minimalism.

Shame there's not one I could run on veg oil, though there's probably electric conversions for them now.

IIRC there was a rumour running around a while back that someone converted a BMW boxer engine to run on diesel, but I've no idea if it was genuine.

Someone turbo'd one. It BBQ'd itself on a motorway slip road.

On this day, June the 14th, in 1987, a group of hired labourers carried 700 old hospital beds onto Saunton Sands in Devon, England for a photo shoot by photographer Storm Thorgerson.

Carefully arranged they were to form the cover to the iconic Pink Floyd album 'A momentary lapse of reason'

Despite meticulous planning the weather intervened, with rain forcing the shoot to be abandoned, the exercise was repeated two weeks later.

By coincidence 1987 was also the year that Photoshop was first developed (although it wasn't marketed until 1988) fast forward a few years and thanks to Photoshop and other graphic handling/manipulation programmes we are unlikely to ever see the likes of this epically staged photo shoot again.

A mate is a 'background actor' (ie extra) on TV and film. Large crowd scenes are now often achieved by moving the extras around, then 'cut and paste'.
