I imagine the large expanse of black plastic under the seat looks better in pictures that it does irl.

Yeah, whatever they are really, I just dislike solid look wheels in whatever form.

That was exactly my thought as soon as I saw it... just as electric bikes have been trying to 'distance' themselves from conventional-looking motorcycles and largely failing to appeal to existing riders as a result.
